Problem with samba broadcast
Hi all, I''m new to shorewall and have been struggling with several problems for several days now. Most of them are solved, but one still persists. The firewall is running on my server under Debian Sarge (Kernel 2.6) I''ve got three network interfaces: ppp0 (DSL Internet) eth1 (lan) ath0 (wlan) eth1 and ath0 are bridged together to br0. The problem is, that Samba (also running

Resizing a ListCtrl

Any help will be greatly appreciated, as I really like wxRuby :) I''ve also tried to copy from the example from listtest.rbw, but that also doesn''t seem to work. Another thing

Ingress policing (matching netfilter marks)
Hi, I''m having issues with policing my incoming traffic by matching packet marks made by iptables. I''ve checked as many sites and guides as I can find, and I seem to be doing the exact same thing as they all are, but there''s still no success. As such, I was wondering if anyone can have a quick look to see if I''ve done anything obviously stupid? Essentially, I

Htb queueing problem
A note to confirm that "-m physdev --physdev-is-bridged" in the iptables command does enable iptables to work in a bridged environment. I was fighting the same problem and this indeed solved it. Below is my test script running on a two NIC Debian 3.1 266MHz bridge. Before adding the physdev flag, only the "tc filter" commands worked but now the iptables commands also

Bi-directional packet classification with ACK prioritization
Sorry for making this a cross-post, but the pressure is on for getting this bandwidth shaper working. I have an interesting dilemma with bi-directional packet classification while doing ACK prioritization. This is an overly simplified summary of my setup: Internet | Eth0 | Router | Eth1 | Intranet A client on the Intranet establishes a flow to a server on the Internet. Packets get

Xen and tc problems
Hi, I am trying to shape traffic to two VMs hosted in Xen. There seems to be very little information regarding this. I found this web page http://www.ioncannon.net/system-administration/57/limiting-bandwidth-usa ge-on-xen-linux-setup/ and followed the instructions. But, the real bandwidth experienced from clients always seems to exceed the set rate. Part of the problem may be because of the way

redirect: net to fw
I have router/server that I would like to ssh to from the net. In order to discourage brute force attacks I would like to redirect all connections on a non-standard port to port 22 on the router/server. If notice that setting up a rule REDIRECT net 22 tcp 4104 causes the firewall to open both ports 4104 and 22 to connections from the net. Is it possible to only redirect 4104 to the
