IPIP tunnels and TCP connections
I was trying the following setup with IPIP tunnels, one that used to work through another ISP, but no longer... IPIP Tunnel
Hi guys, I''m trying to setup an IPIP tunnel between a Cisco router and a firewall running Debian GNU/Linux Sarge with Shorewall 2.0.13. I''ve read and implemented the http://shorewall.net/IPIP.htm document, but I don''t understand why there should be at the same time a "tunnel" and a "tunnels" script. Shorewall still refuses to let the

ipip and nexthdr
After carefull reading (LARTC) and experimentation, I am in a dead end... I am using several IPIP tunnels (linux ipip module, IP protocol 4). I''d like to filter packets going through these tunnes to different classes, on the ingress device, based on source and destination IP _INSIDE THE TUNNEL_. First I tried the nexthdr bit. As explained in LARTC, nexthdr jumps to the next header

I have a router that runs bering firewall of a CF flash card that is going to act as a gteway for the amateur radio amprnet network. Heres what I need from it- I have an internal network 192.168.1.1 etc and a

ipip tunnel docs broken
Hello, Looking here http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.tunnel.ip-ip.html It says to load a new_tunnel.o module. There is no such module on 2.6.9, so where would I find up-to-date documentation on ip tunnels in the Linux kernel? Thanks, Mike -- Michael P. IPSec tunnel mode, through a IPIP tunnel
Hello Gurus, I am a small problem with routing and here are the details. Interfaces on my server: * ipsec0 - 172.19.58.94 * tunl0 - 172.19.58.94 * eth0 - 172.19.58.94 Now, the problem is that there is another host 172.19.58.200. All communication to 172.19.58.200 should be through tunl0, and all the data should be secured using IPSec (tunnel mode - because there are more machines on my

IP tunneling
Hi, I have a problem with GRE tunneling. I read Advanced-Routing HOWTO about this and I did all as is written in this documentation. Even the same example is here which I need for my project. I want create (by means of GRE tunneling or IP in IP tunneling) virtual private network VPN - in first phase without IPsec in other phase with IPsec. I have two local networks distant apart with two routers.

Private Address Routing via Tunnels
Hi, I''m trying to do some horrible private address routing between networks. Is there a way to handle the following? I''m guessing policy routing *might* be the way, but anyway... Two networks, accessible via public addresses -- a /29 on each. Each network, however, has more machines than this, so one also has 192.168.0.0/24 and the other has 192.168.1.0/24. I have an IPIP

Route away packets addressed to the machine itself w/iproute and Netfilter
I have a box with only 1 IP (lets say 10.0.0.1) which has an ipip tunnel to another machine (lets say 10.2.0.1)(different networks) i wan''t all packets coming to 10.0.0.1 destination port 80 be routed thru the tunnel device and be answered by 10.2.0.2 (which has an interface configured with 10.0.0.1). It works if the incoming ip address is not configured on the receiving machine

IP in IP tunneling
Hello, I am attempting to set an IP-IP tunnel between two PC in a same LAN in order to evaluate the performances of the tunnel (kernel 2.4.26). I read the section of LARTC HowTo about it and it seems simple but i do not succeed in setting it. I don''t find the new_tunnel.o module (cf LARTC HowTo). I found Configure.help a bit confusing : CONFIG_NET_IPIP "Saying Y to this option

specialness of ''local'' table..
Hi all, When try to move a local route (for an ip addr configured locally) to a different route table from the local one I can no longer ping the address. My suspicion is that the local (0) table is "special" and used directly without regard for the rules in some circumstances, but I''d like to confirm that what I''m trying to do isn''t possible before giving up!

BUG: warning at kernel/softirq.c:141
Hello ext3-users, we have an oopsy situation here: we have 4 machines: 3 client nodes, 1 master: the master holds a fairly big repository of small files. The repo's current size is ~40GB with ~1.2 M files in ~100 directories. Now, we like to rsync changes from the master to the client nodes, which is working perfectly for 2 nodes, but our 3rd node oopses "sometimes", rendering

Problem report -- shorewall 1.4
Hello list, I wish to report a problem with openvpn tunnels. Synopsis: Despite adding policies to the shorewall policy file, I have to add extra rules to allow the UDP port 5000 packets to get through. I have used no particular setup guide. I believe this problem goes away with shorewall 2.0.9, as I have implemented openvpn with that version on a different machine, and I see no UDP:5000 packet
