similar to: Add software is hung in Updating Software stage

I just build a new server and once I was able to log on, I did a yum -y update The download (~100Mb) and updates all completed. It is now in the cleanup and hung on 56/77 it has been on that entry for a couple hours. How do I recover from this? close terminal window, open new and then: yum clean ??? Should I reboot prior to the clean?

The Centos 5 install on my notebook stopped at 51% complete on downloading packages. Is there anyway to restart where it hung? Say boot into linux resumeinstall ? :) ARGH!!!

As mentioned in my previous post I just completed a rebuild on my new dns/mail server. And it was almost a disaster. When loading from CDs I would get a dialog that an rpm could not be found, perhaps bad media. I would pop out the CD, click OK and things continued. Until finally it would not. I had two copies of the CDs and neither worked! So I happened to have the CDs on my web server

What program do you guys use for mp3 CD ripping? I have CentOS 5.0 x86. Sound Juicer seems is missing any mp3 plug in. Thanks in advance.

Hi All, Something happened on one of my 1.2.9.1 systems, SIP between * and Cisco Call Manager 4.1, leaving hung or open SIP sessions. No problem now, we found and corrected the problem. But while these hung sessions were increasing to around 480 to 500 sessions, I started getting "too many open files" on the asterisk console and sporadically could not establish new SIP connections.

I did chmod -R 777 /var/lib/dovecot and it worked. I just need to figure out what the correct setting are.
