Shaping per IP in PPPoE
hi all.
i am currently now serving PPPoE in my area.
i had a script generated from tcng that worked perfectly before i
started serving PPPoE.
the issue is not in the script it self BUT in that "tc" code is not
shaping on the ethernet anymore BUT INSTEAD
on the pppX devices. I tested it and talking jargon, what should i do?
The issue is that for each PPPoE login, PPPoE-server

Shaping per IP in PPPoE borrowing or sharing Uplink or Downlink
helo again. I think this question i am asking is worth:
we know that pppoe-server creates a pppX device on each connection done
to it.
So, when i have to shape, i have to shape each pppX connection device on
itself alone.
What i know is that the borrowing method on one device by itself, e.g.
ppp0, alone using HTB or the like. this means that i have to create for
another device, e.g. ppp1,

IPSec gateway configuration
Hi,
I''m trying to build an ipsec gateway and somewhere I''m doing something
wrong.
I have a couple of routers that have clients in their back. All the
routers are connected into a switch. In that switch I also have a
computer that provides internet access to the clients.
I would like to setup some sort of autentification (don''t need
encryption), to allow me

vpn control

so far i''ve given priority to the vpn traffic (using htb)
can i now put rules in for the tunnels to control traffic within each
tunnel (that''s where our video conferencing etc runs)? or can i only
control the real interface (eth1 in our setup)? if not can i somehow see

Outgoing SIP Call to unregistered Users
Hi!
I'm using asterisk with a few kphone SIP-Clients. The registration process
seems quite OK. But there are some problems:
Calling other registered users is possible, but the rtp-stream is not reaching
the right port, so you can hear nothing. In ethereal you can see, that the
SIP/SDP fields addresses different ports at each client, so client A sends to
port 32000 but client B listens on

IPSec tunnel mode, through a IPIP tunnel
Hello Gurus,
I am a small problem with routing and here are the details.
Interfaces on my server:
* ipsec0 - 172.19.58.94
* tunl0 - 172.19.58.94
* eth0 - 172.19.58.94
Now, the problem is that there is another host 172.19.58.200. All
communication to 172.19.58.200 should be through tunl0, and all the data
should be secured using IPSec (tunnel mode - because there are more

Impossible to IPfilter this?
Hi!
I'm trying to increase security on my FreeBSD 4.8 firewall/DSL router/VPN
router.
My problem is with firewalling the VPN part. I'm using a tunnel to a
RedHat 7.1 box running FreeS/WAN. This tunnel allows traffic from my
internal net (172.17.0.0/24) to that box only:
spdadd 172.17.0.0/24 $REDHAT/32 any -P out ipsec esp/tunnel/$MYADDR-$REDHAT/unique;
spdadd $REDHAT/32 172.17.0.0/24

Shaping incoming traffic?
I would like to differentiate incoming traffic streams to guarantee
minimum bandwidth to some services. However, as per the
Adv-Routing-HOWTO it appears that only outgoing traffic can be shaped.
Is this correct or is there a way of shaping incoming traffic?
The problem could possibly be overcome if there is a way of routing
traffic through a virtual host. Any tips on how to go about that?

multiple tunnelling problem
Hello all,
I have a problem with one of my routing requirements when using IPSec
along with a proprietary Mobile IP implementation. And sorry for such a
long mail :(
Here is a brief description of my situation: My client (mobile-node) has
an IP address of 10.10.10.40, my gateway (actually home-agent) has an IP
address of 10.10.10.1 and systems in my home network are in 10.0.0.0
network.

Using Julian Anastasov''s ''routes'' patches on 2.4 kernel in conjunction with IPSec
Hello,
I use Julian Anastasov ''routes'' (to be more specific: static_routes,
alt_routes and nf_reroute) patches on a 2.4.32 kernel. On the same host I run
IPSec. I have discovered after a few hours of networking problems that,
when IPSec is enabled on that patched kernel, inspecting packets with tcpdump
while arping-ing a host from a network physically connected to this

Hello, been awhile since I''ve written.
I now have a situation where I get to use traffic shaping for a client.

experienced no problems. I made some modifications to it to add IPSec
protocol packets into the 1:10 high priority class using the u32 filter.

setting up printers with Samba and Windows NT workstation
Hello all.
I'm a samba newbie given the task of setting up samba to act as a print
server for 5 HP laser printers ranging from the LaserJet 4MV to the
LaserJet 8150N. I've done a search of the samba mailing list archives to
see if my problem has already been addressed, but I have been unable to
find anything that refers to the same error I'm receiving. I am using SWAT

SNAT on IPSEC tunnel with kernel 2.6/KAME tools?
Hi,
Could not conceive an working set-up for an IPSEC VPN made with racoon/setkey
on which I have one address on my side acting as an SNAT router for all
traffic from my network to a network segment on the far side.
my network --- my gateway ---------------------- remote network
10.0.0.0/24 - 10.0.0.1 (10.253.0.2) -- tunnel - 192.168.0.0/22
All traffic starts on my side, so if I can
