Big problem :(((((
Hello! I have an internet connection of 64kbps garanteed in a channel of 256kbps. On this connection the metropolitan speed is 10Mbps and in the provider''s network the speed is 100Mbps. I have a few clients behind my linux box and i want to set up some limitations because some of them are using it irrational. I am marking the packets with 0 for internet; 1 for metropolitan 2 for

IP based bandwith limit
Hi, i''ve following problem. One of our gateway router, which connects some of our customers should have bandwith limit. So customer A with IP XX should have 2 Mbit, customer B with IP YY should have 10 Mbit. There is no need of borrowing bandwith so no fairness needed. My simple question: with which technique should I manage this shaping? Or is there any existing project which

htb child classes don''t borrow form "parent''s parent class" :(
Dear list, I have the problem that child classes don''t seem to issue the parent class to borrow from their parent. This is a simplified version of my script: tc qdisc del dev $DEV root tc qdisc add dev $DEV root handle 1: htb default 10 tc class add dev $DEV parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 10mbit tc class add dev $DEV parent 1:1 classid 1:10 htb rate 1kbit ceil 512kbit #groups tc

How to invert tc matches?
Hi, I want to use inverted matches with tc-filter. I tried to invert the matches with a "!", but this doesn''t seem to be the correct syntax. The following rules don''t work: ---------------------------snip----------------------------------------- $TC filter $ACTION dev $DEV protocol ip parent 1:0 u32 match ip src ${NETWORK[$i]} !match ip dst 192.168.0.0/24 flowid

HTB and BOND Interface
Hi! Is it HTB fully compatible with BOND interface? I have this setup (mode= fault tolerance) : BOND0 -> ETH0 + ETH1 BOND1 -> ETH2 + ETH3 ( http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/marcelo/linux-2.4/Documentation/networking/bonding.txt ) HTB work very well with Class over BOND0. If I add Class for BOND1 it generate balance errors. Also with HTB.init

HTB: Problem with excess bandwidth distribution
Hello, I have a serious problem with HTB which I wasn''t able to solve myself. I run a masquerading router with ppp0 as interface to the Internet. Three clients need to share a downstream of 1 MBit, which I want to divide with tc. When I see a packet being forwarded to one of these clients, I give it the appropriate unique mark: iptables -t mangle -A FORWARD -d 192.168.34.141 -j MARK

Here''s where I currently at, but I''ve tried alot of different things, all failing, some worse than others. The end result is to throttle back 126

HTB traffic shaping odd effects
Hi, I''m trying to perform some (what I consider) basic traffic shaping on our network utilising HTB. I have mostly reused the example on the lartc.org site: tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: htb default 10 tc class add dev eth0 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 100mbit burst 24k tc class add dev eth0 parent 1:1 classid 1:10 htb rate 50mbit ceil 80mbit burst 19k tc class add dev eth0

And from 4KB uplink bandwidth each users will get only 1KB to 2KB bandwidth.

htb problem
I have a doubt. What''s the correct use of mangle for the next network: eth0: 200.39.190.249 (public) eth1: 192.168.101.254 (private) I make nat with iptables and have the following htb script: tc qdisc add dev eth1 root handle 1: htb default 30 tc class add dev eth1 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 10mbit burst 15k tc class add dev eth1 parent 1:1 classid 1:10 htb rate 15kbit ceil 10mbit

Weird HTB behaviour in 2.6.17
Hello, I''ve just compiled the kernel 2.6.17 and noticed an odd HTB behaviour. For instance: tc class add dev eth0 parent 1:1 classid 1:30 htb rate 1kbit ceil 750Kbit burst 15k tc filter add dev eth0 parent 1:0 protocol ip prio 15 u32 match ip dst 192.168.5.1 classid 1:30 The filter works ok and the traffic to 192.168.5.1 flows through the class 1:30, but the rate gets much higher than

basic htb setup
Hey all. I''m trying to set up QoS using the HTB qdisc in a very basic setup, but it the example shown in the howto doesn''t seem to be working. While the packets show up in the correct classes, they appear to be completely ignoring the rates, meaning nothing gets shaped. My setup is that I''ve got a a bunch of machines behind my firewall/router: 1.2.3.1

Problems with HTB. Help!
Hello list. I''ve configured a very simple script to slow down packets coming from a particular IP Address. I''ve used IPTABLES to mark traffic coming from this IP Address, but it does not appear to be working as expected. Let me first describe my system as maybe what I''m doing is beyond what NETFILTER can do. I have one machine that runs all my servers as
