Trouble Connecting to Server
Folks, I'm having trouble connecting to my Samba server. The immediate symptom is that I cannot see my Samba server in my Windows Network Neighborhood, and so I cannot connect to it to check my share connections. I'm running SUSE 9.3 on the server, which is running Samba (3.0.22) , a dhcp server (which seems to be running correctly--everyone gets an address when they ask for one),

Re: [Pound Mailing List] Status of Pound-2.3.2 X-SSL-certificate single-line patch ?
For those of you using Pound with Mongrel, the latest dev release allows for the single line certificate behaviour that Jeff wrote the patch for initially. I''ll update the wiki to make mention of it once we''ve been able to do some testing with it. Special characters appearing incorrectly using Form Helpers
Hi Am using the select helper to create a drop down of proce/cost options. The prices should be shown in English pounds. Using either of the below methods does not display the pound character correctly. <%= select("product", "cost", ([["Less than ?5","1"], ["?5 - ?9.99","2"], ["?10 - ?19.99","3"], ["More

Trouble somewhere with lib compilation
Let me preface this by saying that, I realize I should be asking this in *-bsd, but I posted there last week and heard nothing so I thought I would post here to see if anyone had any thoughts: I just compiled all these from source: asterisk-1.2.9.1 zaptel-bsd (from svn downloaded on jun 8) libpri-1.2.3 spandsp-0.0.2.p20_1 (from FreeBSD ports) The system is AMD64 so I had to modify the

mongrel_cluster and pound configuration
Hi, I''ve noticed an issue (or what I think is an issue) with mongrel_cluster: in the config file, I tell it to store pid files in / tmp/ and when I start it they get saved there, but when I run restart or stop, it says it can''t find pid files. Problem being: it looks for pid files in /path/to/my/app/tmp/. Is anyone else aware of this? I have lighty forwarding to pound

Excessive CLOSE_WAIT sockets, pound
Hello, I''m experiencing a strange, but very bad behavior with Mongrel 0.3.13.4 and Pound 1.8. Every 6 hours or so one of our nine (not consistent on which one) application servers ( each one running several mongrel processes ) will start leaving lots of socket connections with pound open. This leads to "Too many open files" errors. I''ve set pound to close connections

# Transfers.
So I have read and read and read... google is my friend and the wiki is by brother... However, I am still unclear on what the preferred method of using the pound sign is. If the Pound sign is set aside for Transfer.. Then when I make an outbound call to my bank I can not "Enter my PIN followed by Pound" Likewise if I turn off the ability to transfer when initiating a call, my bank pin

Sessions on Rails with Pound and Mongrel
Hi All, I''m experiencing a problem when using pound with Rails. My set up is I have a machine acting as a load balancer running Pound. This listens on port 80 and directs requests with a particular URL to two backend servers both of which are serving my rails app using mongrel cluster on ports 9000,9001 and 9002. There is a problem with sessions even though I am storing the session data

How normal is this memory usage?
The following is from just two invocations of "mongrel_rails". Is this normal? 57M x 3 seems a little high to me. This is the latest pre-release, Debian sarge, on my VPS. Two Rails apps running against SQLite3, with Pound in front. top - 10:50:12 up 47 days, 12:09, 1 user, load average: 0.06, 0.03, 0.01 Tasks: 52 total, 2 running, 50 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s):

Making Mongrel play well with Monit
Hi! I run a mongrel cluster with 6 mongrels in it. I want to monitor them individually for process hangs (and then restart them) and this is the solution I came up with: Here''s my configuration file for monit (/usr/local/etc/monitrc): [snipped relevant bits] ------ #check lighttpd process check process lighttpd with pidfile /var/run/lighttpd.pid start program =

Mongrel HTTP Header Problem
Hi, I''ve recently been trying to setup Mongrel behind Pound so that I can do mutual SSL authentication. I''ve had a few problems with Pound (documented at [1]), but now have it working correctly. However, I think there is a problem with Mongrel and how it deals with the headers Pound adds to the HTTP header block. One of the extra headers Pound adds is

Mongrel and ssl? behind Pound
I was about to write a long post about how I couldn''t get request.ssl?to work in Rails behind Pound and Mongrel, but then I figured it out. In your pound.cfg file, just add: HTTPSHeaders 1 "X-Forwarded-Proto: https" Assuming you''ve got Pound working correctly with SSL, this will giveRails the header it''s looking for. If there''s any interest in a Debian

pound key tone generated after call answered?
Hello, I've been working on an * dialer application, whereby a requirement is that if no one answers the call, a message must be left on voicemail. I've been using the record(tmp.gsm) function with silence detection enabled to wait for the greeting to finish before speaking. However, on voicemail systems where you can interrupt the greeting with a pound (#) key to access your voicemail

here's my IAX callthrough app and some questions about problems I have.
Hello all, What my app does is accepts a call in on a Dial-In Number (DID) via IAX, and then prompts the caller for the top secret password (123) and then authenticates the user and prompts them to dial in the number they'd like to call. Once they press pound after dialing in the number it will read it back to them, if they press pound it will attempt to connect via the second IAX provider,

https load balancer for windows?
Hello, I noticed that mongrel would work very nicely with something called Pound to get https access to a rails app. However, I think Pound isn''t available for the windows platform? Is there any other nice lightweight load balancer like Pound that I could take a look at to get https with mongrel and rails? Cheers, /Erik -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

More voice prompts available now
Thanks to a generous donation by VoicePulse (http://www.voicepulse.com/) there are now a wide selection of useful (and not-so-useful) voice prompts available on my website, recorded by Allison Smith (http://www.theivrvoice.com/) There were some apps and dialplan tricks that people were waiting on release because of a lack of voice prompts; hopefully I received and remembered your requests.

Odd AGI Issue - STREAM FILE, GET DATA not playing file
Apologies if this has been brought up before, but extensive googling and digging through my list archive didn't turn anything up. Basically, I'm working on an AGI web app and need to read some digit input. I'm having multiple issues with asterisk interpreting agi commands at the moment, but I figured I'd start with this one. when I call GET DATA or STREAM FILE I don't

British Pound character in error messages
some of my validation error messages contain a pound sign (the British currency, not #) however, this get''s shown as a question mark in the view. i can get round it by using the html reference (£) instead of the literal character, but it seems a little counter-intuitive to handle this in the model... isn''t it view related? any suggestions?
