Using ms access 97 as local db backend for rails on windows 2000
Hi, I am on a windows 2000 machine and want to use an ms access 97 database (*.mdb) as db backend. I did a clean install: ruby, gems, rails, odbc-rails. A test rails application connecting to a local mysql server is doing fine. I can also locally connect to the odbc connection "local_odbc_name" with the aqua data studio client. But now with rails. As soon as I change the adapter to

Overiding builtin DLL's for Dreamweaver
Trying to get DW to run and ran into a snag. I installed it on a Windoze machine and copied the directory over, and then copied all the dll's I could find in that directory to my system and system32 directories on the fake drive. When I go to run DW it crashes with javascript errors. Wine then core dumps. When I run this from a terminal window I see some errors pop up as it goes along.

Mini-PC box to run server
On the cheap side, the ITX or even MicroATX machines work great. These are commodity items, so they tend to be far less expensive than custom solutions. Various manufacturers, but we've had very good success with any of the AOpen MicroATX boards and their slimline MicroATX case: Aluminum: http://usa.aopen.com/products/housing/A340-series.htm Steel:

How to loadby by alphabetical order, not mtime
Hi, I''m writing my requirements in rspec, however, I can not figure out a way to execute all specs according to alphabetical order, not by last modified time. According to the documentation, it seems like the default is by alphabetical order, I just can not get that to work. In the unit tests with the rspec package, seems like only mtime was tested. Can anyone tell me how to run specs

Enabling interpretation of desktop.ini and alphabetical sorting when icons are grouped by type
Hi, How can I make it so that on Samba shares the desktop.ini file is interpreted (responsible for displaying the folder customisations such as icons like My Music or My Pictures folders or others folders customized with the "Customize" tab in the properties window). It is interpreted OK on local folders or on Windows Server 2003 shares, just not on Samba shares. Further more, on Samba

bwplot scales in alphabetical order
Dear List, I know this has been covered before, but I don't seem to be able to get it right. I am constructing a boxplot in lattice and can't get the scales in the correct alphebetical order. I have already read that this is due to the way factors are treated, and I have to redefine the levels of the factors. However, I have failed. As a simple example: library(lattice)

demo() function returns alphabetical matches, not unique matches?
Hi, I'm working on a set of demo files for a package, and I'm having a problem because I have two demo files (one called "logit", the other called "blogit") and when I type demo(logit), it gives me demo(blogit) instead. (And calls it the the demo for logit.) I've figured out that this is because the demo() function searches through all the demo directories (in

Alphabetical sequence of data along the x-axis in a box plot
Hello All, I noticed when I generated some boxplots, the data is presented in alphabetical order along the x-axis (the data in this case was the four quandrants of a sample area (NE,NW, SE, SW) that was my first column of data). Is there a way to have R plot the data in a different order? I imagine you could use a dummy variable, but didn't know if there might be a simple argument that

Hello ppl, Any way to specify alphabetical exten patterns in the dialplans on Asterisk? All my users would have alpha/numerical ids. I don't want to add a line for every user in my dialplans. I searched around, but couldn't get anything useful. Any way to get around this? Thanks in advance - Benjamin Jacob. EMAIL DISCLAIMER : This email and any files transmitted with it are
