load balancing
Hi, I have 2 routers that are connected using 2 gre tunnels over ipsec, and ospf. Ospf sets up the equal cost route, but uses the ''equalize'' in the route. Is there a way to remove/disable packet based load balancing? I would just like to do a flow based load balance? thx jason _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl

equal cost multipath routing and incoming services...
We''re trying to figure out how to have equal cost multipath routing using OSPF (quagga) and have come up with the following... Has anyone done something similar? -- How do you deal with incoming services (mail/web/etc) in such a scenario as below - And does anyone have any suggestions? There''s more detail below.... Diagram and overview: Network A connects to Core1 and Core2

OSPF problems
I have a fairly simply laid out network that could easily use static routing. However, I plan to expand quickly and don''t wish to spend the better part of my life maintaining static routes. INTERNET | --------- Gateway | - LAN 172.16.1.x | - LINK 192.168.1.1 --------- |<----wifi --------- router 2 | -LAN 172.16.2.x | -Link 192.168.1.2 ---------

many ways to do load balancing (or not?)
I''m a little confused about the many ways I''ve read that can be used for traffic load balancing, that is, two or more interfaces to the outside world being used transparently and efficiently by the internal machines. I heard about: a) netfilter SNAT to more than one IP. If I''m correct, this is only a round robin, that is, one connection goes here, the other goes there,

doubt about Load Balancing
Hello In the LARCT how-to subitem: 4.2.2. Load balancing the following phrase says: "" Instead of choosing one of the two providers as your default route, you now set up the default route to be a multipath route. In the default kernel this will balance routes over the two providers. It is done as follows (once more building on the example in the section on split-access): ip

OSPF with Netem
Hi all, I am currently trying to emulate a satellite link, via Netem, on a testbed which is OSPF-enabled. I''d like to set up a Netem box between two routers. Since all routing between routers is dynamic, I''m wondering how to set up OSPF on my Netem box? Could someone indicate me if it is feasible and give me some guidelines to possibly do so? Thanks in advance, Vincent.

Load-balancing with multipath routes (1 NIC + 2 GWs)
Greetings, I''m trying to set up some sort of load-balancing on a Linux (Trustix) gateway by using multipath routes, however I''m stuck with some problems. The idea is that this gateway (odd as it may seem) only has one external interface, which should route packets to two different gateways (Ciscos). The gateway''s external interface and the routers are all on the same

Load balancing (LARTC 4.2) over 2 connections on 2 routers.
Hi, I''m building a network similar to that seen in 4.2 of the LARTC Howto. There is a diagram of this attached to this mail. Addendum to diagram: AlexRouter br0 = 192.168.58.1 eth0 = dhcpcd DaveRouter br0 = 192.168.58.2 eth0 = dhcpcd But we''ve run into some problems when actually implementing the routing for multiple uplinks. The difference between my

Auto Load Balancing in Linux sever
Hello, Im having an intranet of 100 linux machines sharing the internet and have two lease line internet connections Does anyone know how to auto load balance in the intranet server considering the current traffic, bandwidth etc, instead of using static routes with iproute2. Thanks in advance Jayesh _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list /

Again: Re: MSN keeps disconnecting with load balancing (fwd)
This ''MSN'' is a web site? Im guessing it ''refresh''es every 5 minutes or so. They are proably testing cookies against the ip address they appear to be comming from. This is horribly wreckless of them if they arnt offering IPv6. Are they? They only way i have to remedy this problem is to get their IP range and bind it to the most stable connexion you have,

Load Balancing with compile redhat 8 vs Kudzu
Hello I got a nice problem, i don''t know if the i''m put my question a the right place, but anyway.... I have 3 server LINUX with LVS (linux virtual server) I had to recompile my kernel cuz it was not supporting LVS. Since there, everything was going right. Then I''ve change the hard drive of the primairy LVS to an other computer, now i want KUDZU to detect my harware,

A newbie question
This issue may sounds trivial I need to build a Router for send Internet + VoIP traffic. The computers are in a different network that the Phone Gateway. The Computers are going to be send to a 3 Mbps connection using OSPF, in the meantime the phones are going to be send to a T1 using OSPF too. The routing software is going to be Zebra. I need to switch the outgoing in case that the T1 or

load balancing between two default gateways
Hi list gurus, long story short we have firewall machine which is the default gateway for our clients and firewall send traffic out to Internet via cisco router. On cisco we have two serial interfaces 1Mb and 2Mb. On firewall #route add default gw xxx.xxx.xx.xxx (for 2mb) #route add default gw xxx.xxx.xx.xxx (for 1mb) and the same rule for Imb link route packets via these two links. However I

Load balancing over 4 interfaces
Hello lartc! I have strange problem setting load balancing over 4 interfaces. Something won''t accept more than 3 interfaces, While setting: ip route add default scope global \ nexthop via 0.0.0.0 dev pvc0 weight 1 \ nexthop via 0.0.0.0 dev pvc1 weight 1 \ nexthop via 0.0.0.0 dev pvc2 weight 1 It''s ok: ip r l default nexthop dev pvc0

same gw / load balancing
Hi I want to use two dsl (or more) lines to increase my internet bandwidth. Our dsl lines are dhcp serviced, so when we pull together two dsl modems, both of them provide the same def gw and different ip in the same subnet (i also assume that arping gives the same MAC for the def gw since it''s a bridged network). ¿Is it possible to balance outgoing traffic "using" the

Same GW for load balancing
Hi I want to use two dsl (or more) lines to increase my internet bandwidth. Our dsl lines are dhcp serviced. Both of them provide the same Def GW and different IPs for each ethernet interface (same subnet). ¿Is it possible to balance outgoing traffic "using" the interface as a criteria? No point on choosing gateway by IP. ¿Could someone give me a clue on how to deal with this? (first
