Better way to import initial migration?
On a rails app that I''m developing I converted a regular old .sql file into a rails migration. Since I generated the migration in my development environment, it created the schema_info table for me. However, when I updated my production environment and tried running rake migrate it complained that schema_info doesn''t exist. Is there a rake task for getting around this yet, or

general inverse solver?
Just wondering if there's an R package which does tricks similar to what TK!Solver does. TK!Solver, for those not lucky enough to have found it, basically allows one to define a bunch of equations, assign values to an arbitrary subset of the variables, from which it calculates (either directly when possible or back-solving when not) the values of the other variable(s). thanks Carl

How to avoid duplicate search results
I seem to be getting the same document multiple times in my search results. I''m wondering if this is because by default a document is placed in the search results every time the word you''re looking for shows up. Is that the way it works? Thanks, Carl

Some client problems with TCP-only NFS in Gluster 3.1
I see that the built-in NFS support registers mountd in portmap only with tcp and not udp. While this makes sense for a TCP-only NFS implementation, it does cause problems for some clients: Ubuntu 10.04 and 7.04 mount just fine. Ubuntu 8.04 gives "requested NFS version or transport protocol is not supported", unless you specify "-o mountproto=tcp" as a mount option, in

How do you use Mongrel?
Hey folks, I''m working on the Mongrel book with Zed, and wanted to get some feedback from the core users (this list) about how they use Mongrel. That sounds a bit vague, but I''m interested in hearing things about frustrating problems / workaround, preferred configurations, if you have a particular way you set up / store your config files when developing / deploying an

random one way audio and noise betweenSIP phoneson same LAN
Giorgio, I'll answer in reverse order: I've not had reports of "noise" from my users. However, when I went down to get the s/w version from the phone that seems to be acting up the most, the user reported that earlier they were actually on a call that was ok then spontaneously dropped the audio. Per my instructions (based on another similar report I read on Digium's site),

stupid R tricks
Hi all, Just thought I'd post this (maybe) helpful tool I wrote. For people like me who are bad at keeping a clean environment, it's a time-saver. #simple command to get only one type of object in current environment lstype<-function(type='closure'){ inlist<-ls(.GlobalEnv) if (type=='function') type <-'closure'

[PATCH]add usb-ver format check to avoid usb-list error and incorrect usb-ver saved into config file
Add usb-ver format check to "usb-hc-create". In original file, "usb-hc-create" allows usb-ver parameter as "2/2.0/2.0aaa". In low level hc create, it only uses the integer part (that is "2"), so there is no problem. But 2/2.0/2.0aaa will be saved into VM config. After that, while doing "usb-list", it cannot handle "2.0/2.0aaa" and will

Speex ver 1.1.10 decoder problem
Hi, I just started using speex recently and I've been having problem with Speex ver. 1.1.10 decoder. I used Speex to encode a wav file to spx then decode it back to wav file to see the voice quality that results from different speex options. Somehow, I couldn't get the original wav file back. I used both Speex ver 1.1.6 and ver 1.1.10 to both encode and decode, despite the same output

Grandstream GXP2160 + SRTP
Hello, I am trying to setup a Grandstream GXP2160 IP-phone with secure calling (SRTP). Secure signaling SSIP for registration is working great ! I follow this guide : https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Secure+Calling+Tutorial But when I try to make a call with SRTP, I get stuck. There is an initial INVITE which is anwered with a 401. There should follow a new INVITE with a nonce,
