RoutesKeeperProject
Hi
An earlier post sited the following links as helpful for setting up multiple
external IPs:
http://selab.edu.ms/twiki/bin/view/Networking/MultihomedLinuxNetworking
http://selab.edu.ms/twiki/bin/view/Networking/RoutesKeeperProject
I''ve tried repeatedly to follow these links, but they seem to be dead. Does
anyone have this information that they could share, or know where else I can

I have finished setting up the load balancer with IPROUTE ... also patch the
kernel to support DGD and now it''s working fine with the valuable guide at
LARTC website, Julian Anastasov, and the kind people in this mailing list.
Now I would like to launch a web server and a ftp server to the public but
I''m stuck into a problem and really need your help.

Basic iproute configuration questions
I''ve managed to get myself confused with what is probably quite simple
so if there''s any definitive documentation then please give me pointers.
I''ve read and tried the nano.txt document, that''s what I''ve based my
current setup on and it isn''t working at the moment.
I have two external links, a DSL link on eth1 and a cable link on eth2.

load balancing causes authentication problems?
We are currently using iproute2 to perform a round robin type load balancing.
ip route add default proto static scope global

nexthop via XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX dev eth1 weight 1
nexthop via XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX dev eth2 weight 1

newbie
Hi all,
After posting some emails here and googling in the net. I have now a little
clarity where and how to start bandwidth Management.
Hope I can still be guided though.
My understanding is I will be needing these modules and linux utilities. I
hope someone can confirm.
1. I need to use iptables/ebtables for packet marking.
2. I can use tc for packet shaping.
3. I can use bwm_ng for

Pulling Hair Out - TWiki 4.2 on CentOS 5
I thought I would turn here before giving up. I am trying to install Twiki
4.2 on CentOS 5 with all updates. (I also tried Twiki 4.1.2 as well)
I am running a custom rolled Apache 2.2.8 server and custom rolled PHP 5.2.6
(built with oracle support). These work and are rock solid. I've been using
the same config with very heavy duty scripts and php applications with no
issues.

New versions of Hmisc and Design on CRAN
New versions of source packages for Hmisc and Design are available from
CRAN for R 1.9 on Linux/Unix. Knowing Uwe Ligges, a Windows binary is
not far behind. Changelogs are at
http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/twiki/bin/view/Main/ChangelogHmisc and

These versions pass R CMD check for the latest R-devel so I expect they

twiki 4.2 on centos
Is anyone running twiki on centos? The basic part of the 4.2 version
appears to work, but there is a plugin installer that you run from the
bin/Configure URL that is supposed to automate downloading and
installing an assortment of optional add-on and plugin code, and this is
giving me an error of "Subroutine install redefined at
/var/www/html/twiki/WebDAVPlugin_installer.pl" (same

nmbd multihomed registration request must be directed at a WINS server error
Hi there,
I just got a new machine with Redhat Enterprise Workstation and samba
3.0.0-14 pre-installed. I am trying to connect it to my existing network
which has a redhat v8 samba v2 PDC controlling 16 or so win2k and winxp
machines.
In the nmbd log I get this error 3 times every 5 seconds or so:
nmbd/nmbd_packets.c:process_nmb_request(1448)

Multihomed AC DC Server and subnets
Hello:
I am currently planning to divide our network in smaller subnets. Our
central server is a Samba AD DC File Server also acting as DC.
My plan is subnet our current network, add a new interface for each
subnet in the Samba File Server and configure it to listen in all new
interfaces.
Questions:
1 - Does this multihomed configuration have any drawback, specifically
because AD relies

Samba error message
Guys, I'm running Samba 2.0.7 on a Solaris 7 box and in the log.nmb I'm
getting this error when trying to get a machine to join the domain. There is
a quad ethernet adapter in the client machine, however I'm not using it. Can
someone explain the below error or tell me why it's showing up?
Thanks,
PhilY
