pb with ingress policy
Hi !
I have a single host which is connected via an 512kbit ADSL link to the n=
et. I quite often use some realaudio application that uses some bandwidth =
and I want to avoid other traffic to scale that bandwidth down. So I used =
some classes (with htb) on imq0 device and applied some filters and it see=

simple questions about imq
Hi!
I have read all informations i could find, but some things are still not
clear.
My setup is:
---INTERNET1(eth0)-\ /- Local net1 (eth2)
GW
---INTERNET2(eth1)-/ \- Local net2 (eth3)
I have NAT and a working setup using HTB,SFQ, classifying with the
iptables -j CLASSIFY way. I shape only the traffic coming from the
internet heading to the intranet.

Htb, imq and sfq traffic shaping
Hello,
I wrote a simple traffic shaping script (below) that should have allowed me to shape my internet traffic a bit (ppp0 - adsl 128kbit/64kbit; local interface eth0).
The script works only partially - the speed is being limited but too much. Without running this script my download rate is about 10kBytes (with second computer also downloading at about 6kBytes). After running it my download speed

HTB: Problem with excess bandwidth distribution
Hello,
I have a serious problem with HTB which I wasn''t able to solve myself.
I run a masquerading router with ppp0 as interface to the Internet.
Three clients need to share a downstream of 1 MBit, which I want
to divide with tc.
When I see a packet being forwarded to one of these clients, I give
it the appropriate unique mark:
iptables -t mangle -A FORWARD -d 192.168.34.141 -j MARK

IMQ
Hello
I have a server with a dsl connection on eth1 and local interface eth0.
Because of the NAT i cannot direct traffic to IMQ device in PREROUTING chain
but have to use INPUT and FORWARD. So i use rules.
iptables -t mangle -A INPUT -i eth1 -j IMQ --todev 0
iptables -t mangle -A FORWARD -i eth1 -j IMQ --todev 0
And now the strange thing: FORWARD traffic gets directed nicely to the IMQ,
but

Re: LARTC Digest, Vol 26, Issue 24
Alejandro,
So, i did try the script that you give to me, and the problems its
continues.-
Maybe the problem was in the IPTABLES rules, i attach the complete script
below:
#####################
ifconfig imq0 up
tc qdisc add dev imq0 handle 1: root htb default 30
tc class add dev imq0 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 500kbit ceil 2000kbit
tc class add dev imq0 parent 1:1 classid 1:10 htb rate

HTB+SFQ
Hi folks,
I`ve a problem to use HTB and SFQ.
The first script, below, to show a simple configuration, does work
fine...!!!
But, in the second example, does not work, becouse i put more code to
clasify the traffic by protocol, http and ftp in this case.
Somebody can tell me the errors?
Thx, in advance.-

Broken filters?
Hi!
By iptables I set marking (-j MARK) just before -j IMQ.
There are only three marks. Exectly all of them are ditected to 1:20
Why I see 3 pkts in default 1:30?
How explain it?
### imq0: queueing disciplines
qdisc htb 1: r2q 10 default 30 direct_packets_stat 0
Sent 631429 bytes 1812 pkts (dropped 0, overlimits 20)

Shaping the sum of incoming and outgoing traffic
Hello,
does anyone have a working solution for the shaping both incoming and
outgoing traffic in such
way, that for a given client the *sum* of incoming and outgoing traffic
is somehow defined?
My ISP does the same thing, it gives me just a line of a defined rate,
no matter the traffic
direction (i.e. here is your line, the clock speed is 1024kbps, do what
you want).
I''m a litte bit

128kb/s for each ip from 172.23.0.0/16

HTB problems
Hello,
I have HTB on IMQ device. My rate does not work as I configured. I
configured 1920kbit/s and I can download only about 290kbit/s (while it
should be the whole bandwidth).
My script:
/sbin/modprobe imq numdevs=1
/usr/local/sbin/tc qdisc del dev imq0 root 2> /dev/null > /dev/null
/usr/local/sbin/tc qdisc del dev imq0 ingress 2> /dev/null > /dev/null
/sbin/ifconfig imq0 down
