How can i send the same traffic to 2 different interface
Hi! I am making some tests here, and i wanna miror all the
traffic going to a ip from one interface to another ip.
example:
all packets going to 64.223.167.100 should be transmitted by
ppp0 to internet and by eth2 to the adress 192.168.1.100.
Someone know how can i do it using iptables or ip route/ip
rule?
Tks in advance!

Doubt regarding priority of classes with HTB
Hi,
I''m a bit confused with the priority of different classes with HTB. How it will be? Will the class with lowest no: have maximum priority?
Any help is most appreciated,
Thanks in advance,

Sessionbased traffic on NANO?
I use the wellknown nano setup (by Christoph Simon) on a few sites with
success.
From time to time a user approaches me with problems that seems to
originate from the fact that only trafic to the samt DST IP on the net
will get out the same link.
The problem happens with traffic from applications that contact
different IPs in the "same session".
An example is Anarchy Online, where

Wireless Ad Hoc and TEQL
I''m trying to follow Chapter 10 of the howto and apply it to two
ubuntu machines each with two 802.11b/g interfaces. However, I cannot

I would like the 4 interfaces to create 2 ad hoc links on separate

Good pratice with a Linux Gateway / Traffic Shapping
Hi,
I am the network administrator of my company, I know quite well Windows networking and a few about Linux and its amazing routing and QOS capabilities.
Right now, we have a bustable T1, which mean that the bill increase with out T1 use.
I have decided to find a way to shape the traffic so I can stay at a raisonable speed of 256 kb/s (Up/down) on my T1.
I have linux gateway with 2 nics behind a

linux ip forwarding problem
Hi,
I have three linux machines, and I want to let one of them forward packets
betwen the other two. The forwarding node has two ethernet cards,
connecting the two two machines respectively. However, when I ping between
the two end points, the forwarding node can receive the ping requests at
its eth0, but it never forwards them to its eth1. So is the reverse
direction.
The forwarding node is

Policy base forwarding issues
Hello All,
I am trying to setup a linux box as a forwarding router based of src IP. The
problem is that it does forward the pkts to the intended server specified in
the ip rule, but it also forwards it to the original dst (dst specified in
the pkt).
Here is the setup:

traffic conditioning in mobile ad hoc network
Hello,
since LARTC handbook "only discuss case of ip protocol" I want to ask
something about the u32 classifier and possible options about other
protocols
(for example the position based routing protocol I use for the mobile ad
hoc network :-)
I need is to install a filter which selects packets by specific code
points in the header for a DiffServ like approach.
How to make LARTC

possible packet forwarding or routing problem
Hi. I have a system with two network cards -- eth0 is a public ip
address and eth1 is on an internal network. Now I have all the packet
forwards enabled, and there is a route from eth1 to the internal
network, but if a computer on the internal network sets his gateway to
the box, he can''t traceroute past the box to the internet. There
are no iptable rules yet.
Here is the routing

Confuse, putting packets in wrong mangle table.
Folks,
I am a little bit confuse in how to put these packets into correct mangle
table for traffic shaping.
This is what i ve planned to do:
- - - - :eth0 [ LINUX-BOX ] eth1: - - - -
Let say:
eth0: 220.100.1.1
eth1: 192.168.1.1
eth1:1 192.168.1.2
192.168.1.0/24 get natted into 220.100.1.1 before reaching the internet.
I put every packets coming from internet (eth0) this way:

Packet loss with htb+sfq+l7filter
Hi all!
I''m trying to shape traffic in a dorm''s network (4 mbit symmetrical
internet link, about 200 computers, heavy p2p usage). The router is a
p4xeon running linux 2.6.9 with the qnet patches
(http://kem.p.lodz.pl/~peter/qnet/). When I activate ip_forward I get
>20% packet loss and a lot of duplicates. Any ideas? I attach my shaping
script.

yes, ip_forward was turned on.
iptables is defaulted to ACCEPT policy on all the 3 chains.
