Fwd: Traffic Shaping on a Transparent Bridge not working!
I''m trying to shape traffic on a Devil-Linux box.
This note was originally sent to their maillist,
because the LARTC list appears to have been down
for the past few days. My mailbox was just flooded
with a half dozen or so confirmation requests in response
to my repeated attempts to subscribe to this list.

Bridging on the blink with greater than 2 xen domains
Hi,
My bridging stops when I start a third Xen domain !?!?
I have a few domains setup (mail, wiki, pbx). If I start two domains
bridge networking works great. But if I start a third, either the new
domains does not work or one of the other DomUs stops working! By
stop working I mean I can''t route traffic outside of Dom0. I have
been looking at this on and off for a couple of weeks.

About ping latency in SR-IOV
Hi, Greg, Eddie,
I found that in SR-IOV + HVM environment, ping latency depends on ping interval.
The NIC is Intel 82576 (1000Mbps), server uses xen-4.0.1, domain-0 is
kernel-2.6.32
and HVM is kernel-2.6.31. The server and client are connected through
a 1000Mbps switch.
The data is as following:
# ping -i 1 192.168.0.21
PING 192.168.0.21 (192.168.0.21) 56(84) bytes of data.

High network latency on first packet
Hi all,
My setup is Debian testing dom0/domUs with a 2.6.32 pvops kernel from
Debian unstable. Hypervisor is 3.4.2 from Debian testing.
I use network- and vif- route with a default route in domU pointing to
the nic because multiple IPs with bridge would trigger port shutdown on
the switch (only one mac-address allowed per port). A subnet is routed
to the dom0, which then knows which addresses the

Routing and keying Questions
Hello!
I use tincd to interconnect 3 LANs: A, B and C. So long, it works fine:
everybody reaches everybody. But I want a different behavior: A and B should
be allowed to talk, as should B and C. I tried to simply delete the
host-files on the nodes that should not be allowed to talk to eachother:
A has a hostfile from B
B has a hostfile from A and C
C has a hostfile from B
But this is no

Random ping jumps
Hello,
I''ve got this problem. There is an linux server with 2.4.24 kernel
and pinging from him to internet (or from lan) ping randomly jumps up:

CentOS 5.x 32bit VPS Ping Issue
I just got an inexpensive VPS too have an outside server to play/test
with. I am pinging it every 5 minutes and graphing with MRTG on
another CentOS box. This works fine to all servers but the VPS. The
first ping to the VPS is always crud and following ones are fine.
[root at ns1 scripts]# ping X
PING X 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from X: icmp_seq=1 ttl=55 time=773 ms

Ping dom0 <-> domU result in "Destination host unreachable"
Hi folks,
I read quite some posts about "Destination host unreachable" problems
before, but none could help me to solve my issue. So here we go:
This is what I am using:

GPLPV, RDP and network latency
Hello!
Has anybody experienced network latency problems with combination of Windows 7, GPLPV drivers and RDP connection?
Any Windows pop-up message(such as "command not found" error message in "Run command:" dialog, or dividing by zero in windows calc) causes a short freeze of RDP session and looks like that from dom0:
PING 192.168.44.65 (192.168.44.65) 56(84) bytes of data.

SMB/NMBD configuration troubles.
Folks,
I am stumped!
I have followed every tech tip I could find and I am still
unable to complete my SMB installation. Specifically, I fail
Test 4 and Tests 9 and 10. I believe the problem has
something to do with the NMBD configuration. Below are the
parameters of our system.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
