fisrt (?) EDF scheduling discipline implementation.
Hi! I''m currently working on Earliest Deadline First qdisc implementation for providing delay bounded real-time services according IntServ architecture under Linux. My first step was simple EDF implementation, that is available from http://www.avalon.ru/~dketov/. If someone interesting in using EDF or just trying and testing it, please go ahead :) Any questions are welcome. Dimitry.

RED/GRED implementation for InBound Traffic Control (from ISP)
Hi all, Can anyone show me pointers on how to get this implemented on a Linux box with tc rules? I also want to know, just how efficient is this Algorithm. AFAIK, inbound traffic control can''t really be achieved without losing bandwidth. In some of the howtos'' I''ve read, one guy had to limit his downspeed to 1/2 his bandwidth to actually control it. And he was saying

Viral activitiy coming from an IP in your network.
Hi, my name is Grant Taylor. I am a subscriber to the LARTC mail list lartc@mailman.ds9a.nl. The LARTC mail lists has been plagued with viral email coming from changing IPs in your one of your subnets. Based on the fact that the WhoIs information below says that the subnet in question is a dial up pool this would explain the changing IPs. In less than 6 days the list has received 14 viral

Re: LARTC Digest, Vol 34, Issue 12
Hey Marek, I´know that i must to works whith the INGRESS (instead of EGRESS), i´ve well formed my kernel. My others TC rules for source IP address (not for MAC address) does work fine...!!!, the problem is whith the MAC because is a not "IP PROTOCOL" and for that i must to use the "u32/u16 match" to solve it, and if i make an analogy from my others INGRESS rules applied to Src

Re: LARTC Digest, Vol 20, Issue 4
Hi, I think you now have 2 Links to the internet. You want to route web traffic (transparent proxy triffic) via one link and the rest via the other link. If it is the case, It is possible to do. I have done it. here I have mentioned eth0 and eth1 eth0 is connected to one link (link1) eth1 is connected to other link (link2) , via this link, web traffic will be routed. echo 210 link1 >>

Re: LARTC Digest, Vol 7, Issue 7
Hi Andreas! I mainly understand what you mean, but best for me would be if you could make an example from the script I have. I know I did something wrong into it, but I still can''t see the error. If you could fix the error from my script that would be much appreciated. Looking forward to hear from you, Daniel Phlander lartc-request@mailman.ds9a.nl wrote: Send LARTC mailing list

Scheduler Mechnisms!
Hello, Normally, in addition to such qdisc scheduler mechanisms as FIFO, PQ, WRR, WFQ, are there any more? Then, there is a confusion on scheduler in Linux enviroment: Assume there is a qdisc, such as RED as a leaf qdisc in a router, we know, if there is packet which want to enqueue the packet, the Function red_enqueue is called, but when the packet leave the queue(when the Function red_dequeue
