Utilize Java Libraries
Is it possible to utilize java libraries from a RoR application? I saw some stuff about Web Services (i.e. SOAP), so obviously that is one way. I also was looking at the JRuby project... I was just curious how serious the efforts are to integration java and ruby and how that relates to the rails framework. Thanks for your thoughts! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You

gem install of mongrel v 1.1.5 broken in jruby
Can''t install the latest mongrel (1.1.5) in JRuby (jruby revisions ranging from 6600 to 6750[trunk] checked) -- the platform is not being identified and it''s trying to do native compilation. I''m not sure it''s actually a problem with Mongrel or JRuby however -- perhaps there isn''t a mongrel-1.1.5-java.gem on rubyforge? Some investigation below: $

Activerecord::JDBCError: Invalid column number
Hi, I''m rather new to Ruby and RoR, so I do not really know whether this ist the right forum to place my question. For my first ''project'' I planned to create a simple online-viewer, which grabs data from an existing database and make them visible in a structured form via browsers. So I thought that could be the right beginner-project, because I have only read datasets

[LLVMdev] Compiling "vmkit" on Ubuntu_x64 - Error: missing argument to --bindir
I am working on a project to port JRuby on Embedded systems. JRuby converts Ruby code to bytecode which is executed by any JVM. For this project I am testing performance of JRuby with various available JVMs. I have chosen ARM architecture. Does vmkit support ARM architecture? [LLVMdev] Compiling "vmkit" on Ubuntu_x64 - Error: missing argument to --bindir
here <http://vmkit.llvm.org/> its mentioned that its portable on ARM. So simply cross-compiling will work? [LLVMdev] Compiling "vmkit" on Ubuntu_x64 - Error: missing argument to --bindir
Hi Kumar, It's a mistake, we will correct that, we haven't tested vmkit on arm. As LLVM supports arm, by cross-compiling vmkit in arm/linux, it could work, but you will probably have to adapt some few parts of the code. If you plan to make the port, feel free to send us a lot of patches :) Gaël Le 22 juil. 2013 17:09, "Kumar Sukhani" <kumarsukhani at gmail.com> a écrit :

[JRuby] Exposing rails method as java class
hello, I am using Jruby on Rails. Does anyone know if you can expose a RoR object as a java class so that you can call it directly from java without having to go through a service layer like REST ? Thx Adam --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. To post to this group,

I don't know how JRuby works, maybe it uses some new feature that GNU Classpath does not provide. VMKit's openJDK version is unstable on 64 bits since package version 6b27. You can still use it for very small programs which does not need GC but that's all. It works fine on 32 bits. So you can try it on 32 bits or revert your java version to a previous one (< than 6b27) to test

calling java API from ruby
ok, i want to be able to send some data from my rails app to a CRM. The library that defines the API for talking to the CRM is written in java. I got JRuby working, which is pretty cool, but to my understanding i would have to convert my ruby on rails app to a jruby on rails app which, as far as i''ve understood, is different deal altogether and would be set up more like a java server

Talking to Java APIs
I''m trying to figure out how Ruby in general, and/or anything extra Rails may have, can talk to Java APIs of third party server apps. After quite a few search attempts net-wide and on ruby forums, and with "Programming Ruby" in hand, I''m coming up with zilch. Either I''m not finding it, or I''m not recognizing it. I''m assuming there has

JRuby and callbacks?
Hi all, Any Java/JRuby folks on the list? I''d like to see if we can implement api.c for JRuby using JNA and see how it handles the callbacks. I''m not a Java guy, nor do I know JNA, but I''ll take a stab at it if no one else on the list does. Here are a couple of useful links: http://www.infoq.com/news/2007/09/jna-jruby https://jna.dev.java.net/ Regards, Dan This
