First module gives "unknown action"
Hi, I''m using "Agile Web Dev. w/Rails", which is great but has a minimum
on grouping controllers into modules. I''ve successfully generated a
module scaffold, so I have:
app/controllers/admin_controller.rb
app/controllers/admin/things_controller.rb
(And the rest of the scaffold output, which seems normal.) However,
browsing to http://localhost:3000/admin/things/

Mocking/Stubbing help with subdomain as account key
My app uses account_location to set up subdomains as account keys. In
my controllers, all my model operations are scoped through the
@current_person object.
The question is: How do I test this with RSpec''s mocking and
stubbing? Basically, I need to test that @current_person.things is
getting the find message and returning @thing. I''ve tried stubbing
and mocking

Function Testing Reloading Fixtures before assertion
Hey Everyone,
I have a function test the is failing (despite the fact the function
actually works in the application). I was looking for some debug
advice on how to find my problem.
Here is the test:
def test_should_delete_word
assert_equal ''published'', words(:one).status
debugger
delete :destroy, :id => words(:one).to_param

Restful routes
Hi, I''m pretty new to the concept of restful routing and am struggling
to find any rails 2 info that helps with what I''m looking for.
I have a regular scaffold setup and the routes are setup as default
map.resources :pages
I would like to be able to use titles in the url rather than relying on
the id.
Eg
localhost:3000/pages/sometitle
instead of just
localhost:3000/pages/1

link_to: link is missing id
I''m using a legacy table, where the unique id is not ''id''
I have a Model class like the following:
class Article < ActiveRecord::Base
set_primary_key "ARTICLE_ID"
end
however, using a link_to like the following (modified scaffolding),
the link has no id value:
<% for article in @articles %>
<tr>

authentication, controller specs. I think I''m missing something simple ....
Hi all,
I feel like I''m missing something really easy and I''m just not seeing
it.
I''m using the restful_authentication plugin and have a User model. Uesr
has_many :things and Thing belongs_to :user.
That''s it.
I did a "script/generate rspec_scaffold thing" to generate all the
necessary bits. The "rake db:migrate" to create the db.

A spec where interaction-based testing breaks down... (at least for now)
Here are the specs:
context "Finding all the stylesheets available to a company" do
setup do
@mock_company = mock("company")
@mock_company.stub!(:to_param).and_return "1"
Stylesheet.stub!(:find)
end
def do_find
Stylesheet.find_available_to @mock_company
end
specify "should convert the company into a parameter" do

RSpec view spec writing problem (unable to generate url_for in RESTful resource link_to)
Thanks, first, to everyone who''s asked and answered questions on this list,
and to the creators of RSpec - it is all very helpful. I''ve searched the
mailing list, and had a couple 2hr googling sessions that didn''t help me
find an answer.
I''ve run into a problem getting my first non-trivial view spec to run. I
get an error when trying to generate a link_to()

customize resource routes
Hi all,
I have this application that lists videogames, which i am rewriting to
follow REST.
I need to have this url :
/games/xbox360/halo-3 ( map.connect "/
games/:platform_id/:permalink",:controller => "games",:action =>
"show" )
This is no problem with map.connect, but with map.resources i can not
make this.
map.resources :games do |game|

rSpec / Nested Routes / Mocks
I''m having a terrible time trying to test a nested route with rSpec.
I can''t seem to tell rSpec to expect the call @item.user. The
following error message plagues me not matter how I try to fuss with
the mock:
Spec::Mocks::MockExpectationError in ''ItemsController handling POST /
items should redirect to the new course on successful save''

./script/story command
Below I''ve pasted a ./script/story command I''ve been using for about a
week. It has three modes of operation:
1. ./script/story with no arguments will run all *.story files in the story path
2. ./script/story with a path or glob will run the specified stories
3. If input is passed in via STDIN, it runs that text as a story. This
opens up story running via a simple interface

to_parm and how it can be used in a helper
is there a way to pass the data returned by the to_parm function in a
helper?
i followed the info provided at
http://www.jroller.com/obie/entry/seo_optimization_of_urls_in and am
able to successfully get the correct urls, now i want to be able to get
the same (id-whatever) text and pass it to a helper function for further
processing.
Any ideas as to how this can be achieved?

REST urls and Authenticity Token
Hi,
I have a few questions regarding REST and the Authenticity Token. I''m
using a RESTful aproach for my small project and everything worked fine
untill I wanted to destroy a record.
Lets say we have a listing of folder (a folder is just a record) and I
want to destroy one by using this link:
<%= link_to image_tag(''icons/folder_delete.png''), {:url =>
