dual IP connections
Hi all, I would like to know if there is a solution to this question. Scenario: Two asterisk servers connected across the Intenet ( in SIP or IAX mode, no matter) with both of them having static ip addresses Then I add a second link (with another provider), with another NIC at both side, and again both of them having static ip addresses. Is there a way to tell asterisk to use both of these

USB support in wine for TDK CD/DVD Print Labeller
Hi Does anybody know whether wine works with USB ports or not ? The reason I ask is that I'm trying to get the application TDK CD/DVD Printer Labeller Software running, the software appears to work except for the fact it complains that "The printer is turned off or not connected to the computer". http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=3751 Is there some other layer of

Confidence interval from resampling
Dear R gurus, I have the following code, but I still not know how to estimate and extract confidence intervals (95%CI) from resampling. [LLVMdev] LLD: Simplify LayoutPass
In r226336 I shove off 1.2 seconds out of 9.8 seconds for lld to link lld. That's done by parallelizing archive member parsing. But I realized that was not the slowest pass. The single slowest pass in LLD is LayoutPass. Only sort() at the last of Layoutpass::perform takes about 3 seconds (one third of total execution time). It is because the comparison function passed to sort, compareAtoms,

Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the slowest of them all? CentOS
Some of the other RHEL rebuilds take one or two days, while CentOS takes 2 weeks. While i can't say if they have more than a hundred users, their speed in releasing quarterly updates is commendable. Technically CentOS is not the slowest, as Whitebox takes the wooden spoon but you get the general idea. :) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam?

Prevent read locks on shares
Thanks Jeremy but I don't understand why the lock is being applied at all when it's not being asked for. Your advice to not disable locking if applications legitimately share file access to me seems to be the inverse of what is needed. After all, the fact that our application shares file access is the very reason we don't want file locking. regards, John On 28/01/16 10:37,

Network Scanner and CentOS 5.5
I have an HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One color printer. Printing works great, but I cannot get xsane to locate it on the local subnet. I've been to the sane site and looked at the backends. The HP 3210 is supported by hpio and there is a note that hpio is no longer needed because the functionality has been rolled int hplip. yum shows hplip is installed: hplip.x86_64 1.6.7-4.1.el5.4

First public release of Production Log Analyzer! Download it at: http://rubyforge.org/frs/?group_id=586 The Production Analyzer lets you find out which pages on your site are dragging you down. pl_analyze requires the use of SyslogLogger (included) because the default Logger doesn''t give any way to associate lines logged to a request. QoS for VoIP
As you are probably aware, this is a ever green topic. I have personally tried doing it, testing it and verifying it and I am myself finding this problem challenging and frustrating. Most of the scripts will recommend some form of rate limiting ( or policing ) on the download. But the challenge is how to determine the correct value for the policing ? Lot of the recommendation says use x %

UTF-8 conversion speed
At CPPcon last week, I saw a talk by Bob Steagall called "Fast Conversion From UTF-8 with C++, DFAs, and SSE Intrinsics." Part of this talk included data from a half-dozen or so conversion libraries... one of which was labeled "LLVM". The LLVM converters were invariably the slowest. On Windows, the mbtowc (or something like that) syscall was pretty good. Steagall's

mail open slowly
Hello, I have a dovecot IMAP server (relative small hardware: HP Microserver with 6 Gbyte RAM, linux soft RAID1 with 2x 7200 SATA disk) with 100 Gbyte maildirs. Server works fine but sometimes I can open mails slowly (5-10 sec), typical with new mails. It's intresting when I open an another old mail (with 0 sec wait), after new mail open quickly. Is it dovecot mail indexes or I/O problem?

speed up dovecot IMAP server
Hello, I upgraded my dovecot server (1.2 -> 2.1), from debian backport because it was a little slow (wait 5-6 sec) when I opened some mail (but not every mail). Unfortunately, the mail open speed didn't increase. I think it's an index problem. Have you idea for fixing? Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
So I finally got a test in after I changed my RPi to the master and everything else (including my Synology) to slaves.  Before I did that though, I timed the shutdown of my Synology since it is the slowest slave to shutdown.  It took 40 seconds to shutdown, so I changed HOSTSYNC in upsmon.conf on the master (“Proton”) to 60.  I then did a test ("sudo upsmon -c fsd”). The slaves shutdown, then
