Apache+Mongrel Redirection Problems
Hi folks, Newbie issues...I''m prototying an Apache/Mongrel configuration setup as follows: * Two Mongrel servers each serving a Rails application. * Apache front-end. * Linux system (CentOS) * The plan is to create two virtual hosts. /ETC/HOSTS LOOKS LIKE THIS: # Do not remove the following line, or various programs # that require network functionality will fail. 127.0.0.1

OT(?): ReverseProxy and URLs
This could be OT. If so, just let me know and I apologize in advance. I mentioned in an earlier email that I have Mongrel setup as a proxy server behind Apache. Rails applications served by Mongrel do not find the CSS file and hence no styles are displayed. In fact, many of the actions are not found. The reason, I believe, is because the URLs for styles and actions typically follow this pattern:

Asymmetrical HABTM(?)
What is the best way to set up a relationship between two tables where table-1 has a one-to-one relationship with table-2 but table-2 has a one-to-many relationship with table-1? For example, suppose there is an events application (seminars, forums, conferences, etc). Each event has only one address but since many events can occur at the same location throughout the year, a given address can

Can't stop webrick with ctrl-c or ctrl-d on linux host
Hi All I have setup a new dev system running LinuxMint 9 (Ubuntu 10.4). Running ruby 1.9.2, rails 3.0, RVM etc. One issue I have run into is that I can''t stop webrick with ctrl+c or ctrl+d and killing the terminal always leaves a stranded ruby process. Has anybody else run into this? Btw, webrick gets started by running "rails s" in. Also, ctrl+c works fine to stop a

Rails 3 with Mongrel possible?
After much fiddling and googling, it seems to me that Mongrel, even the 1.2.0pre2 release is not compatible with Rails 3 -- is that true? When I start up a new Rails 3 project (i.e. one fresh after a `rails new` command), mongrel appears to start (creates a pid file, and reports no errors on the CLI), but the app does not load in the browser and I find this in the mongrel.log

Implementing HTTPS with WEBrick?
All, I would like to test some secure pages that I''m developing in my WEBrick-based development environment. I''ve done some research and it appears that I need to create a new command that will start a HTTPS based WEBrick server. Is this correct? Also, it appears that the https.rb module is not included with the WEBrick bundled in Rails. So, I will need to go get that

Toto blog date issue - production only, localhost fine
I have this listed in the Toto Issues list on Git and know that it is affecting one other person and so far no ideas... just want to throw it out here if anyone else has had the issue or better yet has a fix: I have a pretty stock instance of Toto. Locally I run it on thin and everything works. When I push it to heroku, the index loads but on every article, instead of showing the date in the

IPv6 and IPv4 binding address on a server with 2 network cards
Hello, I am doing some tests with asterisk on a dual-stack environment. I have some doubts regarding asterisk binding addresses on a server with 2 network cards. According to asterisk documentation: /; With the current situation, you can do one of four things:/ /; a) Listen on a specific IPv4 address. Example: bindaddr=192.0.2.1/ /; b) Listen on a specific IPv6 address.

I'm having trouble with Routes II
I have narrowed my problem in a prior topic (I''m having trouble with Routes) to the fact that I get the problem, below only when I reload my page. Clicking on links to go to the pages I want ... I seem not to have problems. Given that it seems to be a reload that is generating an "/undefined" path somewhere ... can anyone suggest what I should be looking for to fix the

How to disable srtp in asterisk 1.8.2.3?
Hi all, I upgraded one of our servers running asterisk 1.6.X to 1.8.2.3. I compiled it with SRTP support. Everything seems to work OK but I am having a weird issue. I cannot disable SRTP. I tried the /encryption=no/ in /sip.conf /and the /_SIPSRTP_CRYPTO=disable/ on my dailplan and it keeps trying to use the SRTP. Well, right now I have to have/ noload=res_srtp.so/ on my /modules.conf /otherwise

configure question and passenger
Greetings all. I have seen a couple of diagrams on the net that look like a computer set up as an nginx server and more than one mongrel server running at once. What is the advantage of having more than one mongrel server running? Is there a good how-to that explains it very well. thanks shawn -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails:

Apache2.2 + what to get Rails
Me: not experienced with Rails or Ruby, Problem: Ubuntu 9.04 server in my shop ...couldn''t get Apache2.2 + Passenger + Rails to work for Redmine. db connection issues in production but not in dev mode
We have an application Ruby on rails, which fires a number of queries to the database. I Suspect it is connection timeout error or something When we run the application in development mode, it works as expected. However when we switch to Production mode, we get the following error in Postgre console: -------------------------- LOG: could not receive data from client: No connection could be made

Moving page_cache_directory
Howdy. I''m working on a RoR CMS and need cached pages to all be in public/cache rather than public [in order to set svn:ignore on all the files properly]. I can get page_cache_directory set correctly and the pages are cached in the right place but Mongrel isn''t serving them because it''s only looking for them in public. During development I know I can set -r public/cache

cache sweeper not getting called
Hi, I''ve started to implement page caches but I''ve hit a brick wall getting a sweeper to clear the cache when needed. It seems that any models that I tell it to observe aren''t being observed properly. If I add the sweeper to a controller the initialize method runs, but no matter what I do the after_save/after_update callbacks aren''t running. Also if I try to
