Launching a standalone Rails app
Hi,
I''ve developed a standalone Rails app - using tar2rubyscript and
rubyscript2exe. The users aren''t going to understand that the''ll need to
open the browser and go to 127.0.0.1:3000 to view the app, after running
the exe.
I am wondering whether other people have tackled this problem in the
past, and how they went about solving it.
One way would be to write a

I have latest Wine from GIT and did the required winetricks steps (dinput8, xinput, removed asterisk from dinput8 user.reg line, added xinput1_3 (with native only) to winecfg, corefonts, tahoma installed; all done in a new wine bottle aka. WINEPREFIX). A +d3d logfile

Open Source Project "Q*Box" Launched
Hello all.
I created a "plug and play" kind of solution for bridge-based QoS
LAN-WAN traffic shaping. Based on the LEAF bering-uClibc branch, I''m
calling it ''QBox'' and the project site for now is located at:

I''m interested in any feedback you might have. This is based off of

cannonical open source rails apps?
What do you think are the best examples of open source rails apps?
I keep a copy of typo trunk around just to look at the code to see
how they''ve solved a problem. Do you know other apps that you
consider particularly well written?
Thanks

Hello,
Along back I''ve been developing my very first open source project and
finally decided to publish it. It is a star rating system for rails

different javascript plugin and added some other features such as ability
to re-rate user''s ratings, support for long IDs of users etc etc

Launching : New Rails Bootcamp in Dayton, OH -- Need Help
Hey,
I''m building a Developer Bootcamp in Dayton focusing on Rails -- and
wanting to know if any Rails devs might be interested in partnering up --
essentially being an instructor? I''m hoping to run this on a small scale w/
minimal staff - but tuition will be $10k and I''m expecting 15-25 students
per 16 week (overlapping terms) so it could be very profitable.

I am using Samba 2.2.12 as a domain controller without any use of roaming

ASP.NET to Rails, MS to Open Source, Migration
I''m currently coming into Rails with a predominantly ASP.NET background.
We do a lot of .net and flash work (last launch was www.uso.org
<http://www.uso.org/> ). I''ve done sites in PHP and JSP/Struts in the
past, but usually stick closer to the MS model. Anyway, I''m getting
into rails and it''s my first introduction to the Open Source community.

Launching OGG streams
Hi all:
;I wish to raise something that has, in my opinion, not been properly dealt
with. With the iminent release of icecast2 and vorbis 1.0, I feel that it
needs to be sorted out.
The problem is that of how to launch an ogg stream from a web browser. In
short, what metafile should be used, or do we need to invent our own? Let
me illustrate the problem. Using MP3 streaming as an example, we

I'm trying to get dreamweaver MX to work so after reading the instructions in
