Little question about imq device
Witam I''ve found many examples where packets are redirected to IMQ device in PREROUTING chain for ingress traffic shaping purposes. But is there any sense in redirecting packets to IMQ in FORWARD chain also for ingress traffic shaping purposes? -- Pozdrawiam Marcin mailto:slacklist@op.pl _______________________________________________ LARTC

Re: LARTC Digest, Vol 2, Issue 40
Hi Marcin, There is no problem to make limitation on a linux bridge. The rule must be the same as for a router: there must be applied on eth0 and eth1. Future of QoS in Linux
Hi I''m on my last year and I''m writing my final project about QoS support in Linux 2.4 kernels and, in general, about QoS in Linux OS. My professor asked me about future of QoS in Linux. And I asking you :) What are the difference between QoS subsystem in 2.4 and 2.6 kernels? What are the future plans for evolution of QoS support in Linux. -- Pozdrawiam Marcin

Ip route cache problem
Hello, I need some help about a routing problem on a complex configuration. The problem is that I can''t reach from services outside from my DMZ. The scenario is a gateway linked to three internet connections, so that I used three distinct iproute2 tables for routing. The gw is running ipvs for balancing over the dmz''s servers. DMZ servers are on 192.168.1.0/24 network, .

Proxyarp vs DNAT
Hello list, I am in the process of switching from IPCOP to Shorewall s the firewall for our small office. I very much like the fact that Shorewall runs on top of the same OS (openSuSE 11.4) that I run on the server and my desktop. Our setup is fairly straightforward. We have 8 static ip addresses from our ISP, which provides a cable modem and a Cisco 800 series router. The ip addresses are

shorewall status
Hi I wonder if you can help... I have setup shorewall(2.2.3) under debian on a machine that has 4 network ports... the idea is that there is 1 WAN port, 1 DMZ port, and 2 LAN ports, 1 LAN port has static NAT setup for selected incoming connection from trusted sources, and the second LAN port I am trying to setup using masq NAT as it only requires outgoing connections, no incoming. the static NAT

Ip Src rewite.
Hello folks.. Does any of you know if it is possible to rewrite the ip src in a packet. I have a problem involving a DMZ with external IP addresses routed trough a single WAN IP. When the server initiates a connection, it looks like it comes from the WAN ip instead of it''s designated External IP routed through the WAN. So in short, Is it possible to rewrite the packet in the router,

Out network setup looks something like this: Cable Modem : eth0 :12.xxx.xxx.3 (Zone is named INSIGHT) Campus Lan : eth1 : 10.176.9.21 (Zone is named MULAN) DMZ : eth2 : 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 (Zone is named DMZ) Currently, I
