CentOS 4 with MySQL 4.1
Greetings all! I have built a new server with MySQL and have noticed that before even doing anything to it I found that the MySQL logins were much slower than the 4.0 server I used prior to it. After moving data over to it, the application, (JFFNMS) when it would login to it would take forever getting data from it. It would finally get to a point where MySQL would not respond to anything

MRTG Problem - no traffic recorded
Hi all, I've just recently replaced my old firewall with a new one, running CentOS 5.. Yesterday, I decided to get MRTG up and running again, so I entered sections like this into the mrtg.conf file: Title[vlan10]: Bandwidth usage on tenchi.4th-age.com (Internet) PageTop[vlan10]:
Traffic stats on VLAN 10 (Internet)
Target[vlan10]: `ifconfig vlan10 | /usr/bin/awk

Recommendation On Ping And Alert Tool
A bit off topic, but I keep looking for an answer to this question and coming up with nothing... so I thought I would go to the gurus. :-) Can anyone recommend a good package for pinging other devices and sending an email/alert when they go down? I'm aware of all kinds of more complex things with GUIs and a zillion other bells and whistles we aren't looking for, but we just want a simple

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I was searching for few days in this mailing list but I didn''t find how to solve my tc problem. Feel free to ask me more details if you think there are relevant. I''m using a Gentoo 2.4.32-gentoo-r2 and I''m trying to test a *weighted fair queuing* (WFQ) implementation. See http://home.sch.bme.hu/~tusi/wfq/ I patched

Proof of concept for GPU forwarding for Linux guest on Linux host.
Hi, This is a proof of concept of GPU forwarding for Linux guest on Linux host. I'd like to get comments and suggestions from community before I put more time on it. To summarize what it is: 1. It's a solution to bring GPU acceleration for Linux vm guest on Linux host. It could works with different GPU although the current proof of concept only works with Intel GPU. 2. The basic idea

Subsetting to unique values
I want to take the first row of each unique ID value from a data frame. For instance > ddTable <- data.frame(Id=c(1,1,2,2),name=c("Paul","Joe","Bob","Larry")) I want a dataset that is Id Name 1 Paul 2 Bob > unique(ddTable) Will give me all 4 rows, and > unique(ddTable$Id) Will give me c(1,2), but not accompanied by the name column.
