ROR - Apache - FastCGI / Can''t see stylesheets or javascript
Folks ...
I have been porting my app from dev environment on Webrick to Apache
with FastCGI. I have the app responding and pulling up the data, but it
is ignoring the "images", "stylesheets", "javascripts" directories
located in the public directory.
I''m running Apache under Suse Linux 9.x. Here is the information that I
have in my vhosts.conf file:

RMagick and FastCGI on Windows
I''m having trouble getting RMagick to work on my Apache/FastCGI setup.
If I top Apache and start WEBrick on the exact same app/dirs, it works
fine.
I installed RMagick following the instructions here:
http://rmagick.rubyforge.org/install-faq.html#win
That gives me:
C:\ruby\lib\ruby\gems\1.8\gems\RMagick-win32-1.9.2-mswin32\lib

HELP!! Serious memory leak in my rails app!!
I''m having a huge memory leak problem with a rails application I''m developing!
I first noticed that when running under webrick (via script/server) there was
a fast memory leak.. several users using the app for a few hours would use 2
gig of memory!!!
I searched the archives and found that some users found that it could be
avoided by saying --daemon when launching webrick..

CGI and FastCGI problems
I can''t my rails app to work with cgi or fastcgi.
My app works using webrick. I''ve even hard-coded development mode in
environment.rb in order to get most descriptive messages, but the best I
get is the following in the apache2 errorlog:
[Thu Dec 15 10:38:04 2005] [error] [client x.x.x.x] FastCGI: incomplete

FCGI and Apache2 on win performance problem
Hi all,
I am having problems with FCGI and Apache2 on windows.
The error I often receive is 500 error code response with logs listed
down. I successfully use Webrick server and CGI (very slow). I had
configured apache as is described in these document:
http://dema.ruby.com.br/articles/2005/08/23/taming-fastcgi-apache2-on-windows.
Any suggestions?

Routing problems - Apache proxy vs. Webrick direct
I dropped the use of fastcgi because I could not get popen working (see
''[Rails] Apache2 and popen''). It works under WebBrick. Since CGI is too
slow, I thought I''d proxy to WebBrick via Apache.
I am having routing problems now with escaped slashes in the URL.
Here''s my routes.rb:
map.connect '''', :controller => "wiki"

Fastcgi and mysql woes
Hi,
I have been heck of a time to get mysql and fastcgi to
work properly on my Mac OS X box. I keep getting the
following error: Can''t connect to local MySQL server
through socket ''/opt/local/var/run/mysql5/mysqld.sock''
(13)
I have even tried commenting out the "socket" option
in my database.yml but it still gives me the same
error. I''m ok when I

FastCGI timeout problem
Hi everybody,
after more than 18 hours trying to get Ruby Rails running, i ran into this
problem that i cannot solve. I want to mention that with normal CGI the test app
was running fine. FastCGI is making me problems.
I receive in the browser:
"Application error

and in apache2 log files i have:

installation problem with lighttpd
Ever since I moved my dev environment from my Powerbook to my new
MacBook Pro, I cannot run the lighttpd webserver - it starts and
immediately crashes out with an error (see below) saying a file does not
exist. I''ve checked the file does exist.
WEBrick works without any problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Anybody using SCGI in production?
Or does anybody prefer fastcgi/fcgi? I''m using webrick for development, but plan on using scgi
when I switch to production (because it appears to be an update to fastcgi, and I couldn''t get
fastcgi working anyhow).
thanks

File upload works with webrick, but fails in lighttpd 1.4.11
I''ve been trying to add a basic file upload feature (just based on the
Rails Recipes example), but I find that it only works with the webrick
server and not my lighttpd 1.4.11 server.
I''m running Rails 1.1.2 on OSX. The upload silently fails with both
firefox and Safari, even with the useragent hack and with any size of
file/image. My lighttpd config is pretty standard as
