Update Centos-4.4 to centos-5 spents a lot of time in "restorecon"
Hi, having running centOS-4.4 on a really fast machine (16 GB memory, 8 Opteron CPU's, SATA drives). Then making an update by using the Centos-5 CD's. The start was fast, but during update, the installer spents a very, very long wallclock time during selinx updating: for about 1/2 hour the updater runs in a restorecon/find sequence. And at the end, before the MBR is written, it spents

According to this link, https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2007-0331.html conga, ricci and luci have updates available. I can't find these updates on the mirrors I checked. They are in: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/os/x86_64/CentOS/ but not in: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/updates/x86_64/RPMS/ Anyone have any ideas about this? TIA Dave

NX problems with centos 4.4
Hi, using centos 4.4, and freenx-0.5.0-10.c4 and nx-1.5.0-1.centos4 on a 8 CPU Amd Opteron system. If I access this system by nxclient-1.5.0 from some workstation (FC6) with Gnome desktop, then after a successful login the X11 windows have no windowmanager frame, so a handling of the X11 windows is very difficult. This effect does not appear when acessing the centos system by xdm. Is this a

ext3 filesystem performance question
Hi, I'm running centos-4.4 on an SMP system with 4 dual core opterons (2.4 GHz), and 16 GB memory. The disk drives are 500 GB SATA-Drives. Wondering about times for dd command performance and rm command performance in an empty machine (the filesystem has been made with "mkfs.ext3 /dev/sd...", nothing more) 1. Making a new 3 GB (1024 x 3megabytes blocks) file with dd needs 10.18

Conga problems
Hi all, I've spent the past little while attempting to setup Conga on a two node CentOS 6 cluster. While I do have the cluster up and running, I'm running into problems attempting to start services through luci on either node. A little background information: -Both nodes have dual NICs, one interface on each node will be used for the WAN, the other is a private gigabit crossover

Installing samba 2.0.3 on IRIX
HI, I have a problem when installing samba 2.0.3 on IRIX 6.4. If I use the standard IRIX C compiler with -n32 option, all goes OK. But if I use gcc with version egcs-2.91.60, then samba(d) does not run correctly: if I try to connect the smbd (with smbclient), I receive the output below. Does somebody have the same problem? /usr/local/samba/bin/smbclient -L origin -d 5

conga and "virsh nodeinfo"
Hi folks, I have run into a confusing problem. My initial problem is: Conga does not offer "Add a virtual machine service". So I googled and found a RedHat advisory on that: http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2009-1623.html which points updates that should fix this. I checked on my cluster, but the relevant packages are current (and even if ALL packages are current it does not work).
