Execute additional commands after creating database?
I''m writing some code that accesses some lagacy database on PostgreSQL. Since the old database had some really ughly and weird naming conventions (like CamelCase). To work around this I created a second schema (named rails) in the same database and gave the tables and fields some rails-friendly names. The database user that Rails uses has its search_path set to the rails schema. That way

rake update_javascripts on edge has no effect
I moved to the edge yesterday and ran rake update_javascripts to get the latest prototype stuff into my public directory. To my surprise, the old files were still there afterward. I just took a peek at javascripts.rake in vendor/rails/railties/lib/tasks. The update_javascripts task is copying .js files from Dir[RAILTIES_PATH + ''/html/javascripts/*.js''] My railties

rake db:reset doesn't work, fails with unknown attribute: user_status
If I manually drop the database, and run create, then migrate it works fine. But doing a: rake db:reset it fails with: unknown attribute: user_status Does this mean my migrations are not dropping things correctly? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. Question about Rake
Hello, How does Rake determine the list of tasks that Rake can execute?, in a Rails development environment. My problem has to do with the rake tasks that are provided by the Engines plugin (at least thats my current understanding that the Engines plugin provides additional Rake tasks that help manage vendor plugins). I''ve installed the latest version of the Engines plugin and

Make rake tasks of a plugin accessible to the app?
Hi all I want to add some rake tasks to my app using a plugin. So I added some tasks to vendor/plugins/my-plugin/Rakefile, but it seems that the tasks in a plugin''s Rakefile are not available to access from the application root, but you have to change directory to vendor/plugins/my-plugin. Is that correct? I''d really like to make my rake tasks from the plugin accessible by the

Puppet Dashboard won't install MySQL schema
I have been working on this issue for almost 5 days and can not get past this error. Puppet Dashboard is installed via RPM from puppetlabs. I have tried versions 1.2.12, 1.2.9 and am currently on 1.2.1. Regardless of the version, I get the same exact error every time I run rake RAILS_ENV=production db:migrate. rack problems
I''m having some issues running rake commands for puppet dashboard. Here is one of the symptoms (see below). I''m a little new to setting up rails/rack applications, so I may be making a common mistake. It looks like gems are already packaged with dashboard, specifically rack-1.01. Should that gem just work out of the box? Command: rake RAILS_ENV=production reports:prune upto=1
