Centos box and Cisco 3750 VLAN's
Hello all, I have a CentOS box that has a NIC (eth0) on which I defined 4 VLAN's (counting the NIC itself): eth0, eth0.1, eth0.2 and eht0.3. Initially the Cisco switch was not partitioned into VLAN's which means that the only VLAN running on it was the default one (VLAN 1). I have then played with VLAN's a bit on the switch and at this point have two: VLAN 1 (which is default and can

problem with classifying
Hello list I have a problem with classifying traffic from two providers, and about 600 users. I have the following situation: P1-\ | linux | --eth0-| box |-eth1 P2-/ | | P1 and P2 are coming from VLANs. I have 4 type traffic which I want to classify. The traffic is divided as follows: P1 - 100mbit from realm 0x70000 10mbit from realm ! 0x70000

policy ordering when mixing interface zones and host defined zones
Running shorewall 3.0.6, Linux 2.6.16, iptables 1.3.0. This firewall has eth1 facing the DMZ and eth0 is a 802.1q trunk with 6 VLANs and zones on it. I would like to allow one subnet living out beyond the DMZ to have access to all zones on this firewall. It seemed that creating a zone would allow for this to be done cleanly via a line in the policy file. I defined this special subnet as the

Unresticted guest trunk network interface
Hi, is there way to create a network interface for a guest that just forwards packets tagged with a vlan id? Currrently I have a guest that has configured 10+ interfaces and for each one I add I have to create a new vlan interface and a bridge on the host which makes things rather cumbersome. What I'd like to have is just one interface eth0 in the guest and then be able to create eth0.2,

marking and routing (with multi-isp) not working
[ I hope this isn''t a dupe. Evolution crashed on my last send and I see nothing in my logs that leads me to believe the mail made it out before the crash ] Well, it probably is working. I''m probably just misunderstanding something. Given routing rules that look like this: 0: from all lookup local 10000: from all fwmark 0x40 lookup CGCO 10001: from all fwmark 0x80

routing via uplink based on source lan?
I''ve got a rather complex beast of a network that I''ve beeing trying to get properly routed for some time now. I''ve come really close, in that inbound traffic gets where it''s supposed to, and outbound traffic goes where it''s supposed to, but outbound packets are all apparently going over the wrong link. The system is currently configured as a

RTNETLINK answers: File exists
Hi List, I am new at this and trying to set up shorewall. I was using mnf-en to do it but it was using an old version of shorewall (shorewall-2.0.8-2mdk) and didn''t have the features I wanted. So I''ve installed shorewall-2.4.0-1mdk. Other bits of interest: iproute2-2.6.10-1mdk iptables-1.2.9-8mdk I''m trying to get the providers feature working. show capabilities:

Bug in shorewall
I just added 802.1Q VLAN support to redhat initscripts. And after support was ready, I tried to restart shorewall. Well it blew into pieces. Seems like shorewall can''t handle device names like: eth0.3 very properly. That''s default naming of vlan devices. eth1 is master device and 3 is id of my test vlan. So when I added to interfaces line: home eth0.3 detect seems like

Fitting Contour to Data Points
Apologies for the mass mailing today! I am attempting to produce a contour plot for phsical data on a map matrix. I have a small number of data points which each has an (x,y) co-ordinate together with a corresponding value which I would like to cvreate a contour plot for. I have tried the following code: contour(data$x,data$y,data$value) but am told: Error in contour.default(data$x, data$y,

[Bridge] device eth0 is already a member of a bridge; can't enslave it to bridge Net6
Hello, I am working on Network-Simulation (VNUML). Our simulator uses linux bridgi= ng to connect the UMLs. So there is one problem: The example is the following: There are two hosts simulating one big net. The two hosts have connection over the external nets Net3 and Net6 (see htt= p://www.uni-koblenz.de/~timbub/verteilteSim3.GIF), but in fact there is onl= y one physical connection between the
