Loadbalanced NFS as disk for VMs
Hi list,
Is it possible to have NFS based load balancing and failover enabled storage
without stacking switches?
Or is this only doable with iSCSI and multipathd?
I''m reading about XenServer and openvswitch, how multiple VMs would be able
to use all physical links using SLB bonds, it works for networking but not
for storage? (As the nfs share is mounted on dom0?)
Using openvswitch

load balancing and failover
Hi,
A friend of mine has 2 lines of 512kbps terminated in two Linux boxes.
He now want to remove those 2 boxes and have some device which will
loadbalance the two ISPs and also have a failover arrangement. But he
has agreed to give me a chance to do it on Linux for my own
satisfication.
Is this easy to do with lartc? How do I go about it exactly? I have
very less time to do it since his

Case of %n (feauture request)
Hello,
I'm using dovecot not for a long time but I've newer seen most powerful
and handy POP3/IMAP server. Thank Timo for dovecot; thank community for help!
I would like to notice that %n is case-sensitive: it always stores user part
of login without case conversions. As a result there are some inconveniences
with virtual user organization, for example:

[nbdkit PATCH 03/10] filters: Wire up filter support for NBD_INFO_INIT_STATE
The NBD protocol is adding an extension to let servers advertise
initialization state to the client: whether the image contains holes,
and whether it is known to read as all zeroes. Most filters just pass
through the plugin's result (as it is only checked once when first
connecting), but we can do useful things in log (mention the setting),

Squid - Load Balancing Multihomed Linux Router
Hi All,
In a scenario, where a LAN is being provided internet connectivity
through multiple ISPs terminated at a Load Balanced Multihomed Linux
Router as described in LARTC HowTo, how would the traffic distribution
affected if there is a squid based transparent proxy for the LAN''s web
traffic on the same system (i.e. the load balanced router itself). The
recent squid versions have

Multihomed DHCP and PXE?
I am not sure if anyone has done this but I am assuming it has been done
before. Setting up a multihomed DHCP server accross multiple network
blocks to issue PXE/BOOTP setup actions? Some background, I have
successfully setup PXE to work with a cross over cable (first setup and
testing env.), moved cient/server to switch and configured boot menu,
images etc. and now after setting up the

That is what I thought, but just to clarify:
I am using static dhcp hosts in the dhcpd.conf and our network config.
