Every post I do to this mailinglist is followed by a bounce message from "centos.5.warren at recursor.net". I have no clue why this is being send to me, afaics some IP address is being blacklisted but I am not related to it. Am I the only one who gets this and can we remove this person from the mailinglist ? Kind regards, -- dag wieers, dag at wieers.com, http://dag.wieers.com/

Possible bug with multiport?
Hi Folks: I am either using the multiport of the -m or --match option of iptables in correctly or there is a bug with it. Is anyone else using it with no problem? This is the way I am trying to use it: my_ports=21,25,80 iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i $wan_addr -p tcp -m multiport --dports $my_ports -j DNAT --to $my_internal_address I have used this in the past successfully but that was a

Re: util-linux compromised
I just received the following letter: Date: Sun, 24 Jan 1999 04:01:55 -0500 (EST) From: John Stange <building@cs.umd.edu> Subject: util-linux compromised? I grabbed util-linux-2.9g yesterday from win.tue.nl, and discovered a section of login.c that appears to send the host and uid of the user to a hotmail address. I imagine this isn't a standard feature. :>

Vorbis streems, old and new
Hi all: Well, after making the change to make use of the CVS trees and switching to ices2 (as opposed to the libshout example streamer), the icecast server at bumpy.braille.uwo.ca:9000 is back up. I've put my old 22khz mono files (encoded with beta4) back up on test.ogg. In addition, we've implemented a vorbis subset of Kirk Reiser's egoplay MP3 stream. You can now hear all the

Compromised servers, SSH keys, and replay attacks
We had an incident recently where an openssh client and server were replaced with trojanned versions (it has SKYNET ASCII-art in the binary, if anyone's seen it. Anyone seen the source code ?). The trojan ssh & sshd both logged host/user/password, and probably had a login backdoor. Someone asked me what was their exposure if they used public/private keys instead of passwords. My

OpenSSH Security Advisory: Trojaned Distribution Files
OpenSSH Security Advisory (adv.trojan) 1. Systems affected: OpenSSH version 3.2.2p1, 3.4p1 and 3.4 have been trojaned on the OpenBSD ftp server and potentially propagated via the normal mirroring process to other ftp servers. The code was inserted some time between the 30th and 31th of July. We replaced the trojaned files with their originals at 7AM MDT, August 1st. 2. Impact: Anyone who has

ices 0.1.0 released
I am having one slight weirdness which I haven't been able to put my finger on yet. About once every other day or so ices dies with an error about libshout not being able to reconnect to the server. I am not sure who is guilty here ices or icecast. Unfortunately it only happens rarely, twice so far, I'll let you folks know more if I can get a better handle on it. Kirk -- Kirk

need help/ideas please, oh and answers
> Um, why wouldn't you just use apache for this? Exactaly, I would recommend the mod_mp3 project for something like that. http://media.tangent.org/ They are doing almost exactaly what sound like you are looking for. There is also the project 'ampache' that takes this one step further and adds a MySQL database backend to a PHP front. JStanley --- >8 ---- List archives:
