Hello. I've installed the newest version of OpenSSH (version 4.2 portable) onto my Fedora Core 3 system. Now, the banner won't display. I even tried copying the banner to my root directory "/", chmodd'ed it appropriately, changed my config file appropriately "Banner /ssh.txt", and the banner still won't display. Hello, The banner message displayed on the screen contain octal values instead of korean chars. Prior to ssh 5.1 the banner message would display the charaters properly. I understand that starting from 5.1 the message is passed through strnvis() function. I looked into documentation on strnvis and found that it does not support multibyte chars and doesnt work well with international chars.

In my setup I'm running Samba 3.0.23d-19.2 and CUPS 1.2.7-12.1. Printing from a windows-client works fine, until I instruct CUPS to add a banner-page. The banner-page then is the only thing that gets printed. Doing the same from Linux everything works fine. I get my job including a banner-page. The Windows-printjob is passed raw from Samba to CUPS... Anyone has an idea? Best, Johannes

Hi, I am using OpenSSH 3.6.2. Banner printed to stderr. There are also some errors that can discovered only when checking stderr output (even when sftp return status is 0). I have script which using sftp in batch mode to perform some actions. When there is a banner in use, I have no way to detect the errors correctly. Please advise.
