throttle particular client ip
I know this will be trivial for most, but I am having trouble with getting my scenario to work correctly. I want to ''tag'' and ''throttle'' the bandwidth to and from a particular client on my lan side. Better yet, I just want to throttle smtp traffic, per say, for that ip. ----lan----------eth1-[linux.box]-eth0----------internet I have used the technique

AW: samba configuration multiple ethernet card
Ok, and then? in file smb.conf.192.168.0.1 [global] ... bind interfase only = yes interfaces = eth0 ... [FOR_ALL] ... in file smb.conf.192.168.0.2 [global] ... bind interfase only = yes interfaces = eth1 ... [ADMINS] ... Does this configuration works? Is this a good solution? i really don't know, so what's the global thinking about this. -- Information Systems

Using TBF to throttle a PC to 5kbps
Hi Everyone, This is a simple question but I don''t understand why the below tbf is not working as expected by throttling traffic to 5kbps If I throttle a PC''s traffic using the below when traffic exceeds 5kbps packets start getting dropped (as they should) but all traffic gets dropped. not just the bit over 5kbps. TC="tc add dev ppp0" $TC parent 8001:2 handle 2:

throttle lan client only
I have the below example working on tagging a "source" and throttling all the clients for traffic control. However, I need to throttle a specific client on the lan side only. The solution could be with or with out the use of iptables, it doesn''t matter. this works: eth0=wan eth1=lan ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Problem with incoming calls.
I have a problem with incoming IAX calls. I have 2 numbers from the same supplier delivered over IAX. I register once with the server, and both calls get to my box, and I get output on the console with both calls. However I cannot get each number to go to separate contexts.... Please see relevant sections from extensions and iax conf. files Section from IAX.conf: [448700XXXXXX] ;incoming 0870

miniscule font size on R console output
Hi, I am having a situation where I cannot change the output size of the R console. I have played around with the font format menu but the changes are only reflected to the script that I type in but not to the output. Everytime I run a script, I have to go back to font format to increase the output script, which is currently showing up as small as the dust on my computer screen. I have mac by

Throttle New Connections?
All, Is anyone using iptables (recent module), or any other alternatives, to throttle the number of new imap or pop connections per minute? We have some applications that like to login every second to pull mail using imap, so we'd like to protect the entire dovecot server from these applications. We've already made the change over to high-perf mode, but we still need some type of denial

pop3-throttle
Hello I am having a hard time with users using POP while leaving mailboxes of several gigabyte cumulated. This causes a lot of disk I/O and kills performancs for everyone. I try to encourage people migrating to IMAP, but that migration will take some time, and therefore I am looking for alterantive ways to workaround the problem. I found pop3-throttle-plugin.c, which seems a smart way to solve

Newbie trying to throttle bandwidth
I apologize with what may be some very basics questions. I''m trying to go through sections 9 and 15 of the LARTC FAQ, but my head can''t quite grasp what''s going on. I''ll keep going through them to see if something clicks, but meanwhile I was hoping someone might point me in the direction that I should focus my efforts. The server at our church is running

Weird Internet Explorer behaviour and one other mess
I'm kind of a newbie on the whole Wine deal and I'm close to flipping out on this problem I have, maybe it's happened to someone else (who can share his/her wisdom): - Internet Explorer can't open new windows. Be it javascript, a popup, or even if you click on 'File -> New -> Window' and if you try, it hangs. So it's practically unusable to me since the corporate

predicting values into the future
Hi: I have usually used the GROWTH() excel function to do this but now want to see if I can do this with R. I want to predict values into the future, possibly with the predict.arima Function. I have the following weekly fish weight averages: weight <- c("2.1","2.4","2.8","3.6","4.1","5.2","6.3") week <-

[LLVMdev] where should volatileness really live in the AA API?
So, i'm working through the last of miniscule gvn optimizations, and one of the things that gets tested is whether it will eliminate non-volatile loads in favor of ohter non-volatile loads when there are volatile loads in the way. I.E. define i32 @test1(i32* nocapture %p, i32* nocapture %q) { entry: %x = load i32, i32* %p %0 = load volatile i32, i32* %q %y = load i32, i32* %p %add =
