Having trouble extending a class from a Rails plugin
I have class in a plugin that I want to crack open and add some functionality to for a particular application. So, I created a file by the same name as the class in my app/models folder and added some methods to the class, but, I can''t seem to get Rails (2.2.2) to pick-up the extended definition. I did find while trying to debug the problem that if I paste the extended definition into,

trouble streaming images with send_data
Hi I''m doing some server-side graphics with Java2D and I''m trying to stream the resulting image to the browser using send_data. When I try to view the image that I streamed, the browser just shows the URL in the window as a very small image (about .4 kb) when I am using jpeg format. RESTful posting
I''m implementing a Rails front end to a Windows system by using RESTful web services to send data back and forth. Luckyly all the business objects in the Windows system know how to serialize themselves into XML so it''s not too complicated. But when I looked at the XML that gets sent back to the service in a POST when you do a myresource.save, all the fields that had underscores

Should there be trouble w/has_many_polymorphs in a plugin?
Folks, As much as I like generators, I''d greatly prefer to just throw my has_many_polymorphs tagging and commenting engines into projects as plugins. However, after transplanting my tag.rb and tagging.rb files into the lib folder of a ''has_many_tags'' plugin and adding the obligatory plugin requirements (init.rb and an include in environment.rb), I''m not having

Make rake tasks of a plugin accessible to the app?
Hi all I want to add some rake tasks to my app using a plugin. So I added some tasks to vendor/plugins/my-plugin/Rakefile, but it seems that the tasks in a plugin''s Rakefile are not available to access from the application root, but you have to change directory to vendor/plugins/my-plugin. Is that correct? I''d really like to make my rake tasks from the plugin accessible by the
