IP routing basics?
Hi guys.
I've always try to leave as mush as possible to the kernel
but here I had to resort to source/rule based routing and I
wonder why.
Any expert cared to share some light on what is
(not)happening here
HOME -- tunnel --> public iface SHED gw? A iface; B iface
<-- to respectively --> SOME box A iface; B iface
HOME can get to both A & B ifaces, (which are different

problem with port 5090 registration
Hi Guys,
I have tried every single rule I could into iptables but I can't register
this VPS to a provider Spikko. Finally I did an iptable accept on INPUT,
OUTPUT, and FORWARD, for ports 0:65000 just to test things and still I can't
register to the provider.
I can easily register to another provider which uses port 5060 and I can
make calls. But sip show registry only show Request Sent

Slow "run as ...", firewall issues.
After doing some system work, including upgrading the Samba server to
3.0.28a from 3.0.24, upgrading the kernel to 2.6.24, and changing the
firewall rulesk, the XP workstations which belong to that domain, the
right click "run as ..." option is slow to bring up a dialog. The
phenotype is this:
right click some program (for instance, a shortcut to the
"command prompt")

[Help] IMQ download traffic is duplicated !?
Hi,
I have a default class for my un-marked traffic (prio 5) and a prio 0 class for the important stuff,
but I do not understand why my download traffic is duplicated in both.
It work fine for my upload traffic (same setting except the red class but I have the same
result if I create an esfq instead).
Any comments/information will be appreciated.
Below my config :

Marking packets by mac addr using tc filter u32 match?
Hi
Is there a way of marking packets by mac address instead of ip or ports
using a "tc filter u32 match"?
I read somewhere that I could use the offset -8 and -14 to grab the mac
addresses but if I use anything lower than -8, for example -9, I get an
error.
I''m modifying the wondershaper script to cap the download speed by mac
address.
Any sugestions?

Sys info as follows:
[root@wilma root]# shorewall version

[root@wilma root]# ip addr show

Why does dovecot reject password when authorizing by a certificate?
You probably need to also enable
auth_debug=yes
auth_verbose=yes
also, are you sure you just don't have wrong password?

Why does dovecot reject password when authorizing by a certificate?
I have added "auth_debug_password=yes" to "10-logging.conf" and restarted dovecot.?But I do not see any information about the password in the logs. Does this mean that the thunderbird does not send the password??Although it asks for the password and I enter one.
New log:
dovecot: master: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=19769 uid=0 code=kill)

Conflict between iptables and previous shorewall installation
Hi,
i have a problem concerning my previous shorewall installation.
I tried to use shorewall to configure my firewall, but i couldn''t get
NAT to work. So i decided to remove shorewall and tried it with plain
iptables. This is now working for me but everytime when i start my
network connection it seems that my handmade iptable rules are
overwritten. I have to manually run my
