SIP/Polycom Issue, Asterisk 1.2.16, calls dropped
I've been running the 8/1/2004 Head release up until a little over a
week ago. I was forced to due to a card failure to upgrade to 1.2.16
without any advance preparation or testing (most of my connections
are via satellite to all corners of the globe with high latency).
Up until the upgrade I was running with very few issues. Since the
upgrade I have been experiencing strange issues

Fair shaping over link with variable parameters
Hi.
I would like to ask you for advice.
I am trying to construct following shaping solution:
* several users are using one link to the Internet
* all of them have equal priority and should be given fair amount of bandwidth
* no kind of traffic is considered more important than other
* our Internet connection has no CIR, only "maximum dl/ul speeds" given by
provider
* most important:

Mongrel Cluster: Rolling restart?
Hi all,
Forgive me if this has been asked before, but is there a reason
mongrel_rails cluster::restart stops all ports and then restarts them
again? Wouldn''t it be better to restart each port one-by-one in
series so that upstream proxy servers can fail over while the restart
is occurring, or am I missing something?
Thanks,

[OT] Shaping and squid question
List
Out of interest, I use transparent squid proxies for caching websites,
and I shape the clients that browse the net, this all works perfectly
so no questions in this regard...
CLIENT <--- eth0 ----> SQUID <----- ppp0 -----> NET
What I just realised was that all egress traffic on eth0 gets shaped,
squid gets data from ppp0 and hence is not shaped. Does this mean that

NOT an R problem: cannot install packages from distant repository
I met today a computer crash and our maintenance officer had to reinstall
some components of the OS (MS Windows XP Pro) as well as the Internet
browser (among other things). Now, I cannot install packages from a distant
repository:

tables and default
I already setup several 2 gateways boxes, with rules too decide which lan
should use which gateway.
Now I''m stuck with a simpler problem. At home I was just making some
experimental setup:
* 1 adsl (ppp0)
* 1 more tables in rt_tables (200 ping) called "bluff"
* table ''bluff *has not* a default route

correction to the previously asked question (about merging factors)
I have two factors l1, l2, and I'd like to merge them.
(Remark: The factors can not be converted to charaters)
Function c() does not give me the result I want:

Binaries of R.12.0 for Windows: where are RGUI and Rterm ?
Dear all,
I've just downloaded R.12.0 from CRAN
(http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/release.htm). I am unable
to find RGUI.exe as well as Rterm.exe. Conversely to what is explained
in readme.R.2.12.0:
There are two versions of the R executable in R-2.12.0\bin\i386 (32-bit) or
R-2.12.0\bin\x64 (64-bit).
I can't find directories i386 or x64 in R-2.12.0\bin

question
Hi everybody.
The question:
I get two vectors 'iFalseFalse' and 'i2'.
I think they should be the same but they are not.
Is it because
R does not handle complicated logical expressions in such cases
or I do something wrong?

graphing netCDF files
Hello
I'm working with a large hydrological data set stored in a netCDF format.
The file stores x and y coordinates in the UTM projected coordinate system,
yet when I use image to graphically display the z variable, the image is
distorted in the sense that it does not plot the map in the correct spatial
organization.
I'm wondering if I need to define the projection of the netCDF file

Will a VIA Epia ME6000 with a 600MHz Eden fanless CPU be suffiecient for 8 extension system?
Hello
I am using a VIA Epia ME6000 with a 600MHz Eden Fanless CPU. Is this likely
to be enough power for a 8 extension system with 6 external pstn lines?
How important is cpu? Is there some measure, eg xMHz CPU per extension or
something benchmark?
I have installed 512MB memory - again any benchmark for asterisk memory
usage?

interesting feature
Hi, everybody.
This was an interesting discussion last time and it helped me a lot.
Could you please have a look at some feature and tell me
why it was designed this way
