Subversion and tmp directory in Rails 1.1 project
Hello everyone! I''m thinking of the right way to store tmp/ directory of Rails 1.1 project in Subversion. It has cache, session and sockets subdirectories. To me, it looks good to have svn delete tmp/* svn propset svn:ignore "*" tmp So it will ignore all directories and files in tmp/. Even if you create sessions/ and put some files in it, tmp/ content is still ignored. But

subversion setup for maintaining customizations to base code
To the subversion experts out there: I''d like to set up svn to maintain customizations to my base app for each client. A simple example would be to have a base CSS file and a custom one for each client. What is the best way to set up svn so I can ''co'' the trunc and then ''co'' customizations for each client on top of the base code. I''ve looked

Subversion problem - since you guys talked me into it :)
Following the advice here I''ve been trying to get subversion installed and working from my virtual dedicated server this weekend. I believe everything is installed properly, and that all that''s left is to get the apache httpd.conf file set up correctly. to talk to my server with my client I''m using the path: http://svn.mylittlecorneroftheinternet.com/svn/repos/ error

[LLVMdev] Subversion Repositories
Since there was some interest in checking out Subversion and seeing if it might be helpful to the LLVM project, I went ahead and created Subversion repositories from the current CVS tree. The content of these repositories can be seen at: http://toolchain.org/websvn/ and are current as of roughly 23:03 UTC, 15 Mar 2005 (more or less). There are copies of LLVM itself, the CFE, the llvm-test

SVN security hole explained
Hi all, If you are using Pound / Pen or another load balancer, I believe you should read this: http://blog.teksol.info/articles/2006/08/25/subversion-metadata-exposure-on-mongrel My article refers to Dan Benjamin''s http://hivelogic.com/articles/2006/04/30/preventing_svn_exposure My point is that even though we are preventing Apache from serving anything except a select few file

migration to subversion
Everyone, We are at long last migrating the xiph.org source repository from to subversion. We've been wanting to do this for some years, but have been waiting for a conversion script that could deal with our creaky old cvs repository. Subversion, although perfectly usable for the past two years, recently announced a stable 1.0 release, and more importantly the major issues with the

Quickstart Guide
I am in Australia and I have a friend in the USA. We both have asterisks installed and dial tone. What is the easiest way to set us both up so we each have an extension number to call each other on? Also, There is a lot of information in the Asterisk's manual. Has anyone produced a quick start guide? I could certainly do with one. Thanks --Geoff (the novice). -------------- next part

svn and ruby structure
I just set up svn and did a checkout. When I set up the repository, I did an import of the entire base directory of the rails application which was great because it allowed me to do a checkout on to my computer with everything. Of course, now on my home computer, I''ve got a changed database.yml and environment.rb and the log files (because I''ve been running a copy on my home

Dear All, I've got a small server at work, built from a Via Epia SP 8000E mini-ITX motherboard and a Seagate SATA hard drive. The application of this server is to provide versioned file storage, using subversion. I'm running CentOS, with Apache 2 and SSL to provide controlled access to the subversion repositories. SubVersion on CentOS 4.2
I am new to linux based version control systems and am setting up a new project in Rails which will use SubVersion. I set up a repository for this project in a directory called /var/spool/svn and ran svnadmin create etc. I did all this while su'ed to root, however all programming will be done by non-privileged users. To provide for this I created a group called "svn", added

Missing Dependency subversion is needed by package subversion-ruby
Greets. I''m currently trying to install GIT on an RHEL5 box. I''ve tried to both build from source and install via yum. In both instances I continue to receive the error message (full error stack at the end):
Error: Missing Dependency: subversion = 1.4.2-2.el5 is needed by package subversion-ruby
If I''m reading this correctly I''m seeing that svn
