Dual ISP routing and NAT problem
Hello newsgroup, I hope somebody with more routing experience then me can help me with the problem I have. The setup is as described below. A dual internet provider routing, multiple local area networks, and a dmz network with one public and one private ip range. I followed the instructions at lartc.org, and so far everything is working. The default route is via

main adsl fail, backp and test
hi all, I have a firewall with 2 gateways. Router A (main, adsl), router I (backup, isdn). In case of failure of adsl I switch to isdn. How can I know when it is time to go back? Which is a standard way to test the adsl line? TIA sandro -- Sandro Dentella *:-) e-mail: sandro@e-den.it http://www.tksql.org TkSQL Home page - My GPL work

Intermittent failure
Hello. I'm in need of some help to shed some light on a strange problem. The box is running Samba 4.1.7 on FreeBSD 9.2/amd64 and I suspect (though I'm not sure) all troubles started after the upgrade from 4.1.6. The setup is quite simple: no AD, no LDAP, only one server. A command as simple as "smbclient -U user //SERVER/SHARE", if fired up several times in a row on the

tables and default
I already setup several 2 gateways boxes, with rules too decide which lan should use which gateway. Now I''m stuck with a simpler problem. At home I was just making some experimental setup: * 1 adsl (ppp0) * 1 more tables in rt_tables (200 ping) called "bluff" * table ''bluff *has not* a default route root@fw-eden root # ip ro li table bluff

ip rule, fwmark, mangle and src IP
I made a script to test if in a moultiple gateway setup all default connection are up, regardless of the fact that that gateway is the default gw. Suppose adsl1 and adsl2 are present, and all traffic goes by default to adsl1, and you want to test if adsl2 is ok. 1. I use mangles from iptables to mark icmp packets to some test machines 2. I set up a routing table for each adsl 3. I use

debugging iproute2
OK, maybe the message was too long... how can I debug why a packet (eg: icmp reply) that arrives to my box (tcpdump shows it) and does not show up to ping even if it is: a. destined to my box b. is not dropped by iptables I strongly suspect it is a routing problem, since I only have this if I define more routing tables. So I think you are the guys/gurus that can help me...

Multiple SA in the same IPSec tunnel
Hi, When a IPSec tunnel is established between two peers, I understand that the "normal" situation is to have in a given moment two SAs, one for each direction of the tunnel. However, in one of my tunnels (peer P1 running GNU/Linux with setkey and racoon; peer P2 is a Cisco router) there is a large number (around 19) of SAs established (this has been observed in P1 with
