Simple routing question from networking newbie
I''ve recently got a new modem. In fact, it''s a modem-router with NAT
functionality. Before I had a plain modem-modem, and I was able to
access my workstation from my remote server using the IP address
assigned to me by my ISP. Now however, that IP address only reaches
the modem-router and the IP address of my workstation is set by my
modem-router to 192.168.0.2
How can I

Routing packets over multiple links (NICS) all on the same ISP all with same gateway.
Ok ive been trying to get this to work for about half a year now. Ive
searched all over the internet for a solution for
my problem. Ive found some solutions, but they only led me to yet more
problems.
What we want to do is the following:
I live in a student complex with 7 other people. Every room has its own

LoadBalancing on many asimetric different dsl''s.
Hi,
my company have just bought new network and I have question about one problem.
As in topic we must use few completely different dsl''s and balance traffic between them.
2M/0,5M 4Mb/0,5M 8M/0,5M
M=Mb/s
I''ve never done such thing before so I have doubts how it will work. If the links are symmetric 2/2 4/4 8/8 there is no problem because with weights I can compensate the

"dst cache overflow" messages and crash
Hi,
I regularly have errors (kernel: dst cache overflow) and crash of a
firewall under Linux 2.6.17 and the route patch from Julian Anastasov.
With rtstat I see that the route cache size increases regularly without
never decreasing.
I have this parameters:
fw:/proc/sys/net/ipv4/route# grep . *
error_burst:1250
error_cost:250
gc_elasticity:15
gc_interval:60
gc_min_interval:0

rule fwmark desn''t work for local packets (output chain)
Witam wszystkich
After few days with yours help I''ve succeeded with setup of load-balancing.
Now I have problem with next step. I want to mark some packets and than put
them to the one of the routing tables to force them going via only one
interface with only one ip. Easy?? Ofcourse, but not for me :(.
I''m NOT using NAT.
Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT 71 packets, 24227

[PATCH] Notify caching_thread()s to give up on extent_commit_sem when needed.
caching_thread()s do all their work under read access to extent_commit_sem.
They give up on this read access only when need_resched() tells them, or
when they exit. As a result, somebody that wants a WRITE access to this sem,
might wait for a long time. Especially this is problematic in
cache_block_group(),
which can be called on critical paths like find_free_extent() and in commit

multipath routing
Hi, I am tring to us ip route to load balance between two interfaces.
ip route add equalize 10.200.1.0/24 nexthop via 10.200.0.2 dev neta nexthop via 10.200.0.2 dev neta2
Where neta and neta2 are gre tunnels. Testing show that packets travel in a single sided manner.
Do I need to use the multipath (IP_ROUTE_MULTIPATH_CACHED) module?

How to fight with encrypted p2p
Hi
I believe that whole question is in topic.
Is there any way to recognize ( and then shape ) p2p traffic which is encrypted?
Modern p2p clients have this ability moreover some of them have this enabled by default.
Now I''m using ipp2p for iptables but as I know this doesn''t recognize encrypted traffic.
Thanks in advance.

* to Cisco router with FXO's via SIP
Ok, very frustrated after spending most of the day onthe * irc channel
with little to no help. Mostly just a bunch of crap about being a
newbie, going and reading voip-info.org. etc.
Despite me doing all that already.
My situation is not good but here it is. Hurricane came through, power
spikes killed PBX. Just trying to replace it affordable and possibly
with a few more features.

many ways to do load balancing (or not?)
I''m a little confused about the many ways I''ve read that can be used
for traffic load balancing, that is, two or more interfaces to the
outside world being used transparently and efficiently by the internal
machines.
I heard about:
a) netfilter SNAT to more than one IP. If I''m correct, this is only
a round robin, that is, one connection goes here, the other goes there,

Hi,
Anyone have any experience with either of these, I 'd appreciate some

No it''s changed. In a nut shell. Hitting reply sends reply to sender of
email. Defaults to private.
Just about every mailer has a Reply To All, which does just that. So in
the case of mailing lists. It seems many are migrating in that
direction. Which

[cfe-dev] [RFC] Open sourcing and contributing TAPI back to the LLVM community
That sounds great to me, thanks Jake. I'm not Jurgen either, of course,
but I'm happy to assist you if he is unavailable. I'm not also not
qualified to audit the license, but do note Apple formally also released
some code at https://opensource.apple.com/tarballs/tapi/. If there's
anything else I can do to help, let me know.
Cheers,
