can''t figure out nat''ing by port
Hello folks: This may have been discussed many times before but I have not been able to find it. I have also not been able to resolve it myself so I am asking here with hope that someone can straighten me out. I am using ip to do multisource policy routing or two connections to the internet. I have a linksys wrt54gs route which connects two machines by wire through the switch and three

Possible bug with multiport?
Hi Folks: I am either using the multiport of the -m or --match option of iptables in correctly or there is a bug with it. Is anyone else using it with no problem? This is the way I am trying to use it: my_ports=21,25,80 iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i $wan_addr -p tcp -m multiport --dports $my_ports -j DNAT --to $my_internal_address I have used this in the past successfully but that was a

ices 0.1.0 released
I am having one slight weirdness which I haven't been able to put my finger on yet. About once every other day or so ices dies with an error about libshout not being able to reconnect to the server. I am not sure who is guilty here ices or icecast. Unfortunately it only happens rarely, twice so far, I'll let you folks know more if I can get a better handle on it. Kirk -- Kirk

need help with route tables and policy routing please
Hello folks: I am trying to set up a router machine to handle all my network connections to the internet and my local network. I have five interfaces in total, three to ISPs (two adsl and one cable) and two interfaces to my local network one to a switch and one wireless card. I have some of the routing working acceptibly but another portion I cannot get working not matter what I''ve

invalid parameter
Hi Folks: I just upgraded a samba server from 2.0.5a to 2.0.6 and all of a sudden I am getting invalid parameter errors on the windows-9x boes when they try to logon to the server. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Samba is running on a linux 2.2.12 box and connecting to 95 and 98 boxes. It just stopped working when I upgraded. I have tried commenting out domainlogon and the

multiple ices streams and misc other stuff?
Hi Brendan: The diff patched, configured and compiled just greate. A bit of a false start because I chose a bitrate lame didn't like. Once I figured that out however things went fine. You might want to log the point lame dies on something which would help others know where to look for lame errors. On another note, I see ices still only accepts /tmp for the ices:Basedirectory tag. I hope

If I stored all the various combinations of bit rates the

Memory leak in ices-2
Hi everyone: I am running a couple of ices2 streams one with a fairly small playlist and one with a play list which is currently about 1000 pieces. The 1000 piece stream appears to have a bad memory leak. The streamer dies about every 16 to 20 hours with a process out of memory error. Has anyone else seen this problem or have any suggestions? The stream with the smaller play list appears to

Memory leak in ices-2
Hi Mike: Thanx I will update our ices cvs once again. The last set of changes has made quite a bit of difference. The streamer has been up for over 24 hours without crapping out. I'd say you've done a nice job. We will let you know once we've updated and compiled and run it again. Thanx a lot! Kirk -- Kirk Reiser The Computer Braille Facility e-mail: kirk@braille.uwo.ca

ices - cpu cycles - re encodig
Well, actually you have from Geoff Shang. You stated at the time you would look into it after exams or the like. Geoff said he would post an official bug report but hasn't managed it yet. For the record: Using cvs ices2, libshout and icecast2 and can't remember what else but all cvs. Ices runs almost 24 hours before it leaks all the memory it can get and all the processes get killed

need help/ideas please, oh and answers
Hi Folks: I have had need to write a streamer and scripts to stream audio content on demand. Basically a person browses through a directory tree and selects a file to listen to at which point a stream is created and pushed to the listener through the icecast server. My questions start with is there anyway in the server to set a variable to kill/terminate a source when it has no listener

Error: Client not receiving data fast enough
Hey all, I've been having the same "Client not receiving data fast enough" errors. I've got icecast configured so as not to send info to ANY yp directories. Even on a quiet 100MB connection between client and server, I can stay connected for only about 5 minutes at a shot if I'm lucky. I'm using Icecast 1.3.11, and Shout 0.8.0. The files I'm streaming are all

multiple ices streams and misc other stuff?
Hi all: I was just wondering when the multiple streams stuff might be checked in to cvs. I remember the gentleman working on it saying he basically had it running? The reason I'm asking is that I have received a number of requests to stream my mp3 stream at various bitrates. I kind of think running three ices streamers is silly if multiple streams will be available in the near future.

Vorbis streems, old and new
Hi all: Well, after making the change to make use of the CVS trees and switching to ices2 (as opposed to the libshout example streamer), the icecast server at bumpy.braille.uwo.ca:9000 is back up. I've put my old 22khz mono files (encoded with beta4) back up on test.ogg. In addition, we've implemented a vorbis subset of Kirk Reiser's egoplay MP3 stream. You can now hear all the

Hi Brendan and all: Well the upgrade libshout didn't fix the problem. Here are more logs from ices and icecast. They certainly don't tell me much. a simple ices2 scheduler
Hi Folks: I have written a simple scheduler for ices2. It basically plays a background playlist in sequential, random or shuffle mode. Each time it is called by ices it checks to see if there is a file in /tmp and if there is builds it into a request file which plays immediately after the current piece finishes. You can use 'at' or cron to set up jobs to place playlists in /tmp to be
