limiting bandwidth on iface
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi there! Well, as an exercise, I try ''simulating'' an adsl link (just the speed ;o)) with a GRE tunnel and HTB for bandwidth limiting. Typically in germany adsl has about 1024kbit downstream and 128kbits upstream (yes, there are others ;) but these are what I have) - which are the values i try to simulate. Here is the snipped that

Newbie STILL trying to limit bandwidth - is this script wrong?
My previous message (http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/2004q2/012285.html) didn''t generate any replies, so I thought I''d try posting what I''ve done trying to solve my own problem, in hopes that someone will take pity and show me if/where I''m going wrong. Just to recap, I''m trying to accomplish this on my server, which streams RealAudio files

bandwidth control on htb
Hi, I implemented queues on some ports with htb by filtering. and to have a constant bw, i defined rate and ceil the same. But while watching the bw''s, I ve realized they may sometimes exceed the defined value for short periods. How could I avoid this situation? I thought that implementing a leaky bucket''d be fine but i m not sure about this and how to do it on tc. I would be

The command I am using is: tc qdisc add dev eth0 root tbf rate 12000kbit latency 25ms burst 1600 tc qdisc add dev eth1 root tbf rate 12000kbit latency 25ms burst 1600 The problem I am having is that the bandwidth exceeds the 12 Meg by almost 5 Meg. Any help is appreciated.

Newbie question - limit bandwidth of a link.
I just want to limit bandwidth on a particular link. Specifically, one machine (PC1) is on wired LAN and other (PC1) on a WLAN, acess point for which is on the same LAN. Both machines have static ip addresses (AD1 and AD2) and I want to limit the bandwidth utilization of certain udp traffic from PC2 to PC1. Is is possible to do this using iptables and tc (controlling from PC1 as that has both

TBF to limit bandwidth, Should I change #define HZ?
Dear friends, thanks for the last advices about TBF. After reading the tbf.pdf document I got a better insight of the problems I had trying to limit the bandwith on my testbed with a high resolution. The question I have now is: Would I get an immediatly better resolution result if I change the #define HZ to 1000 for my Linux box? I have a Pentium Celeron 700 MHz, and I would like to see the tbf

Gaps in plotting temporal data.
I'm trying to plot some temporal data that have some gaps in them. You can see the plot here: http://www.tiikoni.com/tis/view/?id=da222e2. The problem is that during the time gaps in the TS the line plot is interpolated over the gap and I don't want it to. I've tried interleaving the gaps with an NA flag, but there are around 10000 data-points sorted from multiple files, that makes it

How to limit upload bandwidth for a KVM guest?
Hello: I am using a CentOS server as a KVM host using bridged networking for the guest servers. I would like to limit the bandwidth available to a guest. I tried using the tc command, but it is only limiting the download speed to the guest. Is there a way to limit the upload speed from the guests? Deliver: command time exceed limit
We use Dovecot on a cluster (10'000 domains, 30'000 account) without any problem with pop/imap. We use Dovecot 1.0 RC10 Now we use virtual transport from postfix for mail delivery. We need the Dovecot LDA for sieve support. We test this solution on some domains with success. But if we change the configuration of all our domains, we have a lots of bounce with this error in postfix
