Incorrect battery status on MGE Pulsar M 3000
Hello!
We have two upses: MGE Pulsar M 3000 and MGE Pulsar EXtreme 3200C. They
connect to server by USB. EXtreme works good with usbhid-ups (nut 2.2.1) and
newhidups (nut 2.0.5). But Pulsar M doesn't want to work with usbhid-ups.
- my ups.conf:
[extreme]
driver = usbhid-ups
port = auto
product = "EXtreme"

driver = usbhid-ups

Hi,
I try to install the newhidups driver for a MGE Pulsar M2200 connected to a USB
port under Linux Red Hat 4 Upd 4.
I have compiled and installed the usb driver (make usb && make install-usb). I
followed the instructions in /nut-2.0.5/scripts/hotplug-ng/README abour the

The ups is recognized by the kernel:

New UPS Support: Eaton 5S 1000
Charles,
It starts out good, then goes into a Connection timed out loop. If I can
provide any information to fix a driver I'll do my best. Here's the output:
# /usr/local/ups/bin/usbhid-ups -DD -a eaton
Network UPS Tools - Generic HID driver 0.41 (2.7.4)
USB communication driver 0.33

MGE Pulsar ES 8+
Hi!
I have a MGE Pulsar ES 8+ UPS. Here is the response of some commands:
- Si --> 3000 44 0
- Si 1 --> Pulsar ES8+ 0
- Ai --> 5 0
It's not recognized very well by the current (from CVS) mge-utalk driver:
[root@srv01 ~]# /home/rog/src/nut/drivers/mge-utalk -i 20 -DDD -u root
/dev/ttyS0
Network UPS Tools - MGE UPS SYSTEMS/U-Talk driver 0.86 (2.1.0)

Seagate announces enterprise SSD
FYI,
Seagate has announced a new enterprise SSD. The specs appear
to be competitive:
+ 2.5" form factor
+ 5 year warranty
+ power loss protection
+ 0.44% annual failure rate (AFR) (2M hours MTBF, IMHO too low :-)
+ UER 1e-16 (new), 1e-15 (5 years)
+ 30,000/25,000 4 KB read IOPS (peak/aligned zero offset)
+ 30,000/10,500 4 KB write IOPS (peak/aligned zero offset)

Software versus hardware RAID performance.
With the Dell OpenManage question on my mind (and having seen it answered very
well), I was reminded of an interesting and a little surprising thing I saw
yesterday.
I upgraded a PowerEdge 2850 from CentOS4 to Fedora Core 5 (keeping everything
updated for GNUradio to run on CentOS 4 became more of a job that it should
have) for our pulsar data processing machine (it has a GNUradio Universal

Differences between USB and serial on an MGE Pulsar Evolution 3000
Hi,
I've been using NUT for many years to look after the UPS on my home
servers. Originally I was using a Compaq R3000 but that was replaced
with an MGE Pulsar Evolution 3000 about a couple of years ago because
the Compaq one was just too noisy!
I'm just setting up a replacement server and would like to connect it
using a serial cable as I've found that the USB connection

Hi all,
Not sure if this is on topic or not.
I'm trying to query an SNMP value from centos 6 and I get a bad

Resetting replace battery status on Pulsar 1500
Hi,
I have a FreeBSD 9.2 system with NUT 2.6.5 (installed via the ports tree) with an MGE Pulsar 1500 connected. A while ago it complained it needed the battery replaced and it was finally replaced last week, however I can't find out how to reset the flag in NUT.
I've looked in upsc, upsrw and upscmd but none seem to have a suitable option.
The UPS is connected via RS232 and upsc output

NOTIFYCMD and SHUTDOWNCMD do not work until Nut is restarted
Hi everybody,
I installed and configured Nut 2.4.3 on Debian Squeeze, using package.
It monitors an MGE Pulsar 1500 UPS in standalone mode.
Here are parts of upsmon.conf :

NOTIFYCMD "/bin/bash /usr/sbin/alerte.sh"

MGE Pulsar EX over serial problem (FreeBSD)
We have several systems in remote locations and I have found that the ones in
the US are having issues.. We are an Australian company and can't source a
110V UPS locally so we arrange to have one bought for the site when it's
installed.
It seems that in the US we are getting "Pulsar EX 1500" UPSs but locally we
buy "Pulsar 1500". NUT seems to work find with the

Best way to validate these dropdowns/multiselect options
Hi,
I have a <form> page in which there are a number of dropdowns and
multi-selects, each of which is populated upon the page loading by
quering its own table with the most recent values. These other tables
are very simple two-column set-ups - one for the ID/value and another
for the verbose description.
I am getting the editing/creation stuff working fine. The dropdowns work

AJAX in-place editing of checkboxes and dropdowns?
I''m looking for a plugin or general directions on where to find code
implementing not only in-place editing of text fields, but also of
dropdowns and checkboxes. There is a recipe in "Rails Recipe", but it
only covers dropdown menus, and chances are that there is a plugin
somewhere out there.
However, I''ve only found "InPlaceControls", which, it

mge-utalk ESV8+ comm problem
Dear Sirs,
I have an old but very well-working UPS MGE Pulsar ESV8+ Rack. I'd like
to use it to power FreeBSD 9.0-Rel server.
Of fortunately I have problem with recommended driver - mge-utalk, nut
2.6.4 (installed from FreeBSD Ports).
I get messages:
Could not get multiplier table: using raw readings.
and
updateinfo: Cannot update system status
