Dovecot failed logins delay all logins
Hi all, I have observed with my Dovecot setup that unique failed logins cause legitimate correct logins to be slowed. I am running two servers, each with two Dovecot instances, a Proxy with Director, and a backend Dovecot. I suspect that the backend instance is throttling connections from the same IP, and because I am running a Proxy, the backend will only see either of the two server IPs. I

tc does''nt limit the bandwidth!
Hi, good people! I wanted to limit my 4 customers to 144, 16, 32, and 32kbps. I used the following tc commands BUT IT FAILED TO LIMIT each and everyone of them to its bandwidth. What am I doing wrong: My tc scripts are: tc qdisc add dev eth1 root handle 1: htb default 1 #Classes# tc class add dev eth1 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 9bps ceil 9bps #Default

Making tcp start transfers slow
Hey list I have almost gotten my shaping setup up and running as planned. The last barrier seems to be tcp overshooting availible bandwidth when its starting a transfer, and thereby bursting the line, so ping rises for a moment. At least this is my best guess at the problem :) There is a possibility that its just plain old traffic being bursty for some reason.. I am using bittorrent to test this,

Multiple rate limited networks and transparent http proxy - tricky problem
Hello, We have a box with good connectivity which we divide among several internal networks by having a different interface for each internal network and rate limiting outgoing traffic on each of these interfaces. We are using cbq and a u32 match on the destination to organize the packets. This works very well for us, but there may be a better way, I''m no expert at this! We also use a

Script control traffic
Hi ! Anyone can show me a script for bandwitch management to contain packets marking with iptables and tc filters? For example, I want to set limits for 192.168.10.0/24 class: international min 64 kbps max 128 kbps; metropolitan 192.168.10.0/24 and 192.168.11.0/24 classes with 100 mbps management between them. OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3, several weird terminal problems
I compiled OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3 (or at least "uname -a"'s output of 4.0.3.0 suggests v4.3, I'm not positive). I was able to compile zlib (1.1.4) and openssl (0.9.7a) with little trouble. OpenSSH took hand-hacking the includes.h file as follows: diff -cr openssh-3.6.1p1/includes.h openssh-3.6.1p1-customized/includes.h *** openssh-3.6.1p1/includes.h Sun Oct 20

Sporadic duplicate requests with lpxelinux.0
Hello, I am seeing sporadic duplicate read requests from lpxelinux.0 (6.03 from kernel.org), which results in a failed PXE boot. This happens only sporadic, but happens often enough to be annoying. The TFTP server serving lpxelinux.0 is running CentOS 7.6 with all updates applied. The client machine initiates the PXE boot, receives the lpxelinux.0 binary, downloads ldlinux.c32 and proceeds to

[PATCH libnbd v2 1/4] examples, tests: Remove want_to_send / ready logic, increase limit on cmds in flight.
Since Eric's improvements to the command queue in commit 6af72b8 (and following) there's now a queue of commands waiting to be issued stored in the handle, and there's no need to issue commands only from the ready state. We can therefore remove the want_to_send logic, queue as many commands as possible, and don't need to test if the socket is ready for POLLOUT. This commit also

[PATCH libnbd] api: Rename nbd_aio_*_callback to nbd_aio_*.
The original nbd_aio_* (non-callback) functions are removed and replaced with the renamed callback variants. This is a simple mechanical change to the API: (1) Any existing call to nbd_aio_*_callback can simply be renamed to nbd_aio_* (2) Any existing call to nbd_aio_* must have two extra NULL parameters added before the final flags parameter. In non-C languages, only change (1) is

[PATCH libnbd 1/4] api: Combine callback and user_data into a single struct.
The definition of functions that take a callback is changed so that the callback and user_data are combined into a single structure, eg: int64_t nbd_aio_pread (struct nbd_handle *h, void *buf, size_t count, uint64_t offset, - int (*completion_callback) (/*..*/), void *user_data, + nbd_completion_callback completion_callback, uint32_t flags); Several
