data frames with å, ä, and ö (=non-ASCII-characters) from windows to mac os x
Hi, I ran into this issue previously and managed to solve it, but I've forgotten how and am getting frustrated... I have a data frame (see below) with scandinavian characters in R (2.7.1) running on a Win Xp-computer. I save the data frame in an RData-file on a usb stick, and load() it in R (2.8.0) running on OS X 10.5. Now the name of the data frame and all factor labels with scandinavian

Complex multiple t tests in a data frame with several id factors
I have assayed the concentrations of various metal elements in different anatomic regions of two strains of mice. Now, for each element, in each region, I want to do a t test to find whether there is any difference between the two strains. Here is what I did (using simulated data as an example): # create the data frame > elemconc = data.frame(expand.grid(id=1:3, geno=c('exp',

Subtract days to dates in POSIXct format
Hello, I'm having problems working with date values in POSIXct format. Here is what I got (eg.lig attached): x <- read.table("eg.txt", sep = ',', col.names=c("ok","time","secs","lig")) # it gives time as factor z <- cbind(x,colsplit(x$time, split="\\s", names=c("date", "clock")))

Selective sync
I have a strange problem, apparently contradicting man pages and recent postings on --include / --exclude options. On the server host I have directories to replicate only if they match a specific pattern ( date in different formats), they might be located 1 or 2 levels down from root directory and these parent directories (but not files) have to be replicated too. I understand, that given :

Σχετ: show 0 at y axis in xyplot lattice
Dear all, Thank you very much for the help. ylim=c(-5, 80) worked.? Regarding the reproducible example, I used dput () and saved the file as txt. It is not the first time that I used this way and normally it works. Because when I try to attach a .csv file with the data, most of the time it doesn't go through.? I will know for the next time.? Many thanks. Regards,Maria ???? 2:11 ?.?.

Not reproducible, as we have neither "example.csv" nor "Date" . 1. My name is Bert, not Brent; 2. I am not your private consultant -- always cc the list unless you have good reason not to. I have done that here. It looks like this is what you want; if so, you really need to go through an R tutorial or two to learn the basics: d <- structure(list(region = structure(c(1L, 1L, 1L, 1L), .Label = "zilan", class = "factor"), Fe_ppmtp =

Problem with the step() function
Dear all, I'm having some problems with using the step() function inside another function. I think it is an environment problem but I do not know how to overcome it. Any suggestions are appreciated. I've prepared a simple example to illustrate my problem: > library(MASS) > data(Boston) > my.fun <- function(dataset) { + l <- lm(medv ~ .,data=dataset) + final.l <-

quantiles for sorted pairs of data
Hi everybody, Suppose I have continuous measurements of an energy waveform that is sampled discretely for different heights every 0.5m. Let's say I want to find out the height for which I have equal amount of energy above and below. My colleague did the following: a. calculate the cumulative sum of the energy b. calculate the median of the cumulative energy c. find out what is the height

[RFC][SVE] Extend vector types to support SVE registers.
Hi, I would like to restart the conversation regarding adding SVE support to LLVM. This time I am framing things from the code generation point of view because our immediate priority is llvm-mc support rather than auto-vectorisation. Can you please review the following text outlining MVT changes we would like to make so SVE instructions can be added to the AArch64 Target. My overriding
