Problem with PXE reboot option
Hello, on may 7th I send the following mail. Can you confirm that it is
received and can you comment on the reaction of the manufacturer?
In our system (lot of CPCI boards) the atftp server is sometimes so busy
that a TFTP request times out. I added the PXE option reboottime to
force a quick reboot.
Once in a while this fails and the board just doesn't reboot.
I can easily reproduce the

PXE linux starts slowly
Hello,
On our system (embedded Intel based board acting as server, compact pci switch, number of embedded Intel based client boards) it sometimes (guess is one of 25 starts) occurs that some client boards start very slowly.
The client has received the pxelinux.0 file and now starts asking for a pxe configuration file. The server sends TFTP error indicating the file is not present (we only have a

Why is .journal file sometimes visible and sometimes not?
Hi.
I recently migrated two machines from ext2 to ext3. Kernels (nearly
identical) are 2.4.9-ac9 + preemptivity-patch + wrr-patch. The Installations
are based on Mandrake 7.2 + 8.0. Also I have e2fstools-1.23 newly compiled on
them. Both machines have two ext3 partitions (root + multimedia-data). On one
machine I see a .journal file on both partitions, on the other machine

type of Incoming channel:
If incoming channel is SIP, on phone is displayed CALLERIDNUM
If incoming channel is ZAP, on phone is displayes CALLERIDNAME
It vas very frustrating! I lost couple hours of my time to find that my
dialplan is not faulty, but asterisk is!

Malloc null checks, why sometimes are moved and sometimes not?
Hello,
Here is simple test code:
https://godbolt.org/g/mjAUpu
LLVM generally assumes that malloc never fails.
But I dont understand difference between these two example functions - and
why null check was not removed in f1, since in f2 it was removed.
Thanks

That's because the return value from malloc is

te110p sometimes green, sometimes stays red on stable cvs ?
Hi,
we've installed te110p with Suse 9.2 on Siemens primergy. We're connecting
to voxsteam i60 to test PRI interface.
We have problems, after reboot sometimes it goes green, otherwise stays
blinking red.
How could we debug this situation ?
Are there any common advices what to check ?
Are CVS Head drivers better than CVS stable ? Why ?
Do you also experience such unstable behaviour

Sometimes yes - sometimes no (dialplan)
I am confused about one of my installed server
The dial plan seems to be ok, but sometimes NOTHING happens if I try to
dial an extension (from X-Lite), next time it is done.
X-Lite does not have a tone, nothing and does also have no time out. It
seems it is not connected to the server. However, a sip show users / sip
show peers shows that the phone is connected.
What could be the reason?

accessing samba shares from a winpc sometimes as a readonly user and sometimes with writing abilities
hello everyone.
i am trying to setup samba and there is a whole lot of option in doing
things.. so i got somewhat overloaded:)
the idea is that i want in my home network to setup a file server running
samba (its a slackware v11 machine)
and have all my music/video/office files on the server..
now, from a windows side i know that when u log onto a pc you will probably
be asked to input a passwd.

Does anyone know why sometimes a PDC appears in the Network neigborhood, and sometimes it doesn't?
The subject says it all, I think. At home I have a PDC (Linux with Samba), and
I have Win98 and Win 95(!) clients. And sometimes the domain name (workgroup
name) is visble in the Network neigborhood, and sometimes it is not. I also
got the impression that placing a link in the file NETHOOD makes a
difference, but I am not sure yet. The PDC is visible, that is, it can be
PINGed, I can connect

Bug? backup_dir sometimes reported on STDOUT, sometimes not.
Running rsync 3.0.6 on OS X 10.5.7 (on a MacBook Pro) and using the -b
flag (and -v --verbose), the "backup_dir" is reported in the output,
but sometimes on STDOUT and sometimes somewhere else. Note that the
rsync daemon running on the "server" is 2.6.9 (on another MacBook Pro,
OS X 10.5.7)
For example, in bash, this happens:
axe-MBP:bin work$ /usr/local/bin/rsync

sometimes dtmf passed, sometimes not (cisco 7960 SIP)
Hi list, I'm hoping that I'm being stupid, and someone can tell me
what's going on, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. (it's
been a long day, and I'm now in the last 3 weeks of organising my
wedding, so I hope this makes sense ;) )
When at my desk, accessing (for example) my voicemail, the dtmf tones
are passed perfectly, I can enter password, change

Sometimes echoes & Asterisk sometimes connects too early
Hello,
I have read the articles on echo cancellation
(http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk), but couldn't find a
solution to my problem.
We are running Asterisk 1.4.12 together with an EICON DIVA SERVER BRI-2M
PCI (current driver from EICON) and some SNOM 300/360.
There are few clients where we recognize echoes on both sides when we
call them via ISDN.
With some of these clients we

install.packages() / update.packages() sometimes outputs to stdout and sometimes to stderr [and menu() & readline()]
I've noticed that install.packages()
[https://svn.r-project.org/R/trunk/src/library/utils/R/packages.R] and
update.packages()
sometimes output to stdout and sometimes to stderr.
It looks like stderr is used (e.g. via cat()) when the message is part
of querying the user, e.g.
update.packages <- function(lib.loc = NULL,

link_to_remote renders Ajax.Updater, sometimes Ajax.Request
I''m new to Rails, but am really enjoying working with it.
But i just hit a brick wall...
I have two link_to_remote tags in two seperate _whatever.rhtml files.
The targets of the updates are in edit.rhtml which does a render
:partial to include the links. here''s some code:
<%= link_to_remote ''Destroy'',

script/console cursor goes crazy sometimes on XP
I''m on WinXP SP2, Ruby 1.8.4, Rails 1.1.2.
Sometimes when I''m editing a line in script/console - that is, I''m using
the cursor keys or backspace key to edit the text on the current line -
the cursor suddenly flies off to the previous line out in space
somewhere, and typing anything after that just results in characters
being entered at weird places.
