State of Unicode collation support in FreeBSD?
[crossposted to -stable and -i18n, replies directed to -stable]
Hi everyone,
could someone point me to infos regarding Unicode collation support in FreeBSD?
All I could find was https://wiki.freebsd.org/KonradJankowski/Collation but
that page has not been changed in more than two years. Looking at sources of
-current it doesn't look like those changes made it into the source tree yet.

Use of MathJax (or something similar) in .Rd files
Hi All,
After some tinkering, and with support from Duncan, I put together a package that allows for easy inclusion of MathJax equations in Rd files. The package has been submitted to CRAN, but those who want to try this out already can get it here:
https://github.com/wviechtb/mathjaxr
or in other words:
install.packages("remotes")

Use of MathJax (or something similar) in .Rd files
Thanks Gabor and Duncan! It works. For those interested, I added this to the beginning of the \details{} section:
\if{html}{\out{
<script id="MathJax-script" async
src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/mathjax at 3/es5/tex-mml-chtml.js">
</script>
}}
And then I can use:
\if{html}{\out{\(B_{x(a,b)} = \int_0^x t^{a-1} (1-t)^{b-1} dt\)}}

Use of MathJax (or something similar) in .Rd files
Interesting. I gave this a try, but couldn't make this work. One would have to infuse something like
<script id="MathJax-script" async
src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/mathjax at 3/es5/tex-mml-chtml.js">
</script>
or
<script id="MathJax-script" async

biplot
Dear list,
I want to perform a biplot, using customized titels for the x and y axis.
Setting xlab="" and ylab="" resulted in an error, e.g.:

Error in biplot.default(t(t(scores[, choices])/lam), t(t(x$loadings[, :

samba 1.9.18 swat
Hello
Our customer wants to use SWAT with Samba.
On z/OS 1.2 we have in Unix System Services Samba Version 1.9.18 from 1999. In this release there is no SWAT-function.
What should we do to implement SWAT in this environment ?
Best regards
Wolfgang Schneider

R not responding (must force quit) when saving graphic to PDF (bug?)
Dear Wolfgang,
Thanks for your response.
No, I haven't tried doing the complete reinstallation as you suggest. If I
recall correctly, this has happened on previous occasions but like I said
in my email it's not all that disruptive to my workflow. It's more like a
'first world problem'.
I was encouraged to submit the query because I had correspondence with

incoming cid translation tables
How does one do translation for calls that come in from other pbx's
where the incoming caller ID is an internal extension number on their
pbx? Eg. when I get a call from Free-World-Dial the CID shows up as
"429102" which is essentially their internal extension number sans any
routing prefix. To dial the number back I need to dial the extension
with FWD's routing prefix

Yes. Thank you; I should have quoted it.
I suggest to remove this text or to add the word "not" at the beginning.

how to make a function recognize the name of an object/vector given as argument
Dear guRus,
I'd like to learn how to make a function recognize the name of an
object/vector given as argument
If I have :
testFun <- function(x,y) plot(x,y, main=paste("plot
of",names(x),"and",names(y)) ) # this just a simple example ...
a1 <- 5:8
b1 <- 9:6
testFun(a1,b1)
# Returns the plot, but not the names of the objects/vectors given as
arguments,

A different error in sample()
FWIW, I suspect this is related to the function R_unif_index that was
introduced in src/main/RNG.c around revision 72356, or the way this
function is used in do_sample in src/main/random.c.
