OpenVPN, proxy ARP for an entire subnet (Linux endpoints)
"A Tale of TTL Troubles"
I was hired to implement VPN for a subnet. The owner has a /27 at his
home site, and he wanted to have the machines there answering BOTH on
those IP addresses and some addresses at a remote colocation provider.
Make sense? Not to me either. :( I think he''s trying to fool his
customers into thinking he has a physical presence in the colocation
city.

Horrible problem - calls losing sound
We're having a horrid problem with our asterisk setup.
Sometimes calls just go dead - we can't hear what the other end is
saying. (I think they can't hear us either). The call doesn't hang up
until one of the callers gets bored.
Internaly we use Thomson ST2030 SIP phones.
Externaly we have 3 ISDN BRI lines (6 channels total), connected to an
Eicon Diver server card (4BRI).

Video Comparison
Hey all,
I have followed a thread on golem.de, which was about an article regarding mozillas reasons, not to include h264 and to prefere theora instead.
In the forum there was much talking about a lot of nonsens (as usual). But there is still a huge and loud number of people believing that theora has a significant worse quality compared to h264. Most test material I found does not focus real

Interface Configuration
Hello,
You may recall some of My Dmz question around Thanksgiving.
While I have configured a Proxy arp Dmz. I would like to practice
with the routed setup you suggested Tom as your network was
simular.
Here is one of your quotes "The configuration of eth2 is largely
irrelevant but you certainly don''t
want to confuse things by assigning any default gateway out of that

can I use tos and fwmark at the same time?
Hello lartc maintainers and users!
I have a router with two NICs. One NIC is connected to the Internet and the other to my internal LAN. I made a script for priorizing interactive traffic. The script matches TOS Minimize-Delay for priorizing interactive trafic, and fwmark for metropolitan packets.
I have two root classes (simulating two circuits) : 1:1 for internet and 1:3 for metropolitan.

XEN/bridge mode
Hi!
I want to forward the port 3389 from the domU to the virtual server with ip
address 192.168.122.77 with not success...
I tried a lot of iptables rules with no luck so far. Is this possible? I
take a look at other post and I don''t found an answer.
By example:
/sbin/iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -i xenbr0 --dport 3389 -j DNAT
--to 192.168.122.77:3389
the virtual nic for the

ip alias + dsl modem
Hi Guys,
Just wondering for some reason when I switched providers(DSL) IP aliasing
stopped working. And, I am not sure what kind of modem this is, the previous
one had some Ethernet ports at the back(it has a bult-in 4 port switch) the
new doesn''t have one, only a single Ethernet port and It is directly
connected to my Linux box.
My provider gave me a /24 subnet and 9 useable

Problem with multiple ISP''s
I have a setup with two Internet providers. One circuit (net0 == eth1) is
used primarily for employees and tunnels to other sites. The other (net1 ==
eth2) is for the production machines that customers access. Everythung works
in teh sense that packets get to where they are sent (mostly) but I recently
I had a sniffer on the system and noticed a problem I cannot solve. traffic

Question about limited primary addresses
I just realized that I hadn''t actually asked a question when I posted
this before. Let me try again...
I am trying to configure a Linux box with all possible VLANs (4094 of
them), and a subnet on each VLAN. Creating the VLANs isn''t a problem.
But, when I try to use "ip addr add ..." commands to assign an IP
address to each VLAN interface, I get to do about 280 of

Yikes! Routing issues!
We switched over from a bordermanager firewall to a shorewall firewall.
Some stuff is not working now.
I realized that I had not created the route for the network that is not
working however once I created it, it still didn''t work.
Most of our network is fine however some pieces are not working.

bridge + arp
Hi,
this is propably bridge related and not really a xen problem, but it
might help someone:
Some of our domUs are not able to arp. Arp -n show (incomplete), and
doing a tcpdump shows, that on the dom0''s eth0 the arp request goes out,
the response comes in, but on the vifX.0 interface the arp response is
gone.
dom0# tcpdump -ni eth0

How to create a virtual bonded interface?
Hello,
I have a server with 4 NICS running CentOS 5.2. I have bonded the
interfaces together such that 'bond0' consists of eth0-3. This is not a
problem, and works fine.
However, I now need to create a virtual interface. In a non-bonded
server I would just create something like eth0:1, but with a bonded
interface I am a bit confused. I have created bond0:1 simple by copying
