tc del filter
Hi, How can I delete an existing filter? Is it possible? I tried different combinations of tc commands but, while manage to delete an existing qdisc or class, I wasn''t able to find a way to delete an existing filter. The tc man page doesn''t even list the del command in the synopsis. tc filter [ add | change | replace ] \ dev DEV [ parent qdisc-id | root ] \

Hi I was surprised with size of Theora files and thought of feedback. Following 1minute duration Theora and Xvid files were made from a y4m file. The resolution is 1280x720: 1. Xvid 17MB 2. Ogg/Theora Q7 31MB 3. Ogg/Theora Q8 38MB 4. Ogg/Theora Q9 49MB 5. Ogg/Theora Q10 61MB The Xvid file was made using mencoder by 2 passes with following options:

TC Filter matching all
Hello! I was always using "default" in HTB to choose default class, but now I need to do it with filters. Tried following command: # tc filter add dev eth0 protocol ip parent 10: prio 2 flowid 10:2 Unknown filter "flowid", hence option "10:2" is unparsable It is from example in LARTC Howto. My question is then - how to make a filter matching all without eating

Why does scp stall on low bandwidth connections?
Hi, I am new to tc and have been reading quite a bit on how to set it up etc. Everything seems to be working fine, until I started scp-ing a large file over a low bandwidth connection as part of my testing process. Here is the setup: my pc --- bridge running tc/htb --- rest of network TC is filtering traffic from "my pc" and classifies it as 120kbit (see my script below). I then scp a

deleting specific filters/classes
Hi I have a cbq setup with all the filters in tha root class. If I try to delete a class with the following line: tc class del dev eth0 classid 1:1000 it says: RTNETLINK answers: Device or resource busy Is this because I have filters (not with parent this class) with flowid this class? If so, then I tried to delete a specific filter. The tc filter show dev eth0 command shows me what I have to

Most general filter rule?
Hello! I recently noticed that the default class of my htb setup gets too much traffic (the setup otherwise runs fine for about 2 years now). Therefore I tried to track this traffic down and attached filter rules to the end of my filter chain which would IMHO match all the traffic which could possibly occur. The most general I could come up with is: tc filter add dev eth2 pref 300 protocol

encoder_example input formats
Hi all I have the raw out put of a video camera in following format: mjpegb, yuvj422p, 1920x1080, 24.00 fps(r). I cannot directly convert this raw footage to Theora due to the YUV4MPEG2 only restriction of the encoder_example. Isn't it better to support other raw formats in encoder_example, such as what I have, mjpegb, yuvj422p? I presume even if I convert the mjpegb, yuvj422p to

Deleting a tc filter rule
Hi, I am very new to tc. I added a filter using the following command: tc filter add dev eth0 V parent 20:0 protocol ip prio 1 handle ::128 u32 match ip tos 0x44 0xfc flowid 20:1 To check if the filter rule was indeed added, I run tc filter show dev eth0 parent 20: This gave me the following output: filter protocol ip

Error using getBM() to query BioMart archives
I'm trying to identify the positions of all genes within a specific chromosomal region using biomart. When using the current biomart database I'm able to do this without issue. However, I need to use build 36 of the mouse genome which was last included in ensembl mart 46. I selected this mart and the mouse dataset as follows: mart<-useMart(biomart="ensembl_mart_46",

Theora in Matroska
Hi all Currently Theora video in Matroska is not supported by Mplayer. To enable the support Michael Niedermayer has made the following proposal sometime back: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.video.mplayer.nut.devel/214 Appreciate if Theora developers could comment on that. Best Regards Unga ____________________________________________________________________________________ Get your

Simple Rule to Cap P2P Uploads
Hi, I''m new at traffic control and was reading up on HTB and using it to put an upper limit on traffic. I have a 256k DSL with 64k upload (which translates to about 5/6KB uploads). The machine running the P2P applications keeps filling up the 64K so my browsing from other machines in the network ends up being very slow. Since there are several P2P applications, I wanted to set the

[LLVMdev] How to compile a simple C program with clang on Windows 8.1?
Hi all I need a small help to get my first C program to compile on Widows 8.1. I'm an Unix guy but new to Windows. I installed MS Visual Studio 2013 free version and the LLVM 3.6.0 binary pre-built version. my shaping rules wont work on nat box
I am currently running the following script on an internal machine to shape outbound ftp and email traffic. I am trying to move the script to my nat router (ipcop with 2 nic cards) so that it shapes the whole network and not only the outbound of 1 box. I have cable modem -> ipcop (eth1) >(eth0 - 192.168.1.1) > 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.101. The scripts works great running on

tc filter + bridging + htb -- works only if ip_forward = 0
I thought that the below email would be of interest to LARTC readers. I wasted quite a bit of time tracking down this "feature" (bug?). Any comments that shed light on this would be appreciated. In short, "tc filter" + htb + bridging works only with ip_forward off. Andrew Athan ----------------------------------------------------------------------- All: It seems that

Problem deleting tc rules
Hi all! :) I see that this is partially covered in the mailing list archive but at the moment I can''t find a straight & working answer. I have an imq device with dynamically attacched classes/qdiscs/filters. There is a hashing filter that maps the last octet of an user''s IP address to a class (and associated qdisc). The "empty" filter looks like this: filter
