Render Nothing....
Hi,
What''s the best way to render nothing ? I am making an ajax call to
an action on my controller that does not need to make any changes to the
view.
Not sure how do that yet as I get an exception in the logs saying
xxx.rhtml not found....

Apache2+fcgid = "malformed header from script" when page starts with a space
I was getting some "application failed to start properly" pages, but
production.log was not showing anything.
Looking closer I''ve noticed that server_error.log (the apache log) was
giving lines like:
"malformed header from script. Bad header=<html>: dispatch.fcgi, referer:"
I was able to determine the cause, and that was that some pages were
starting with a space

Apache2, FCGI, 500 errors?
Context: shared server (DreamHost)
Does anybody know why these happen at random moments?
The http logs say:
...[error] [client 208.188.101.145] FastCGI: incomplete headers (0
bytes) received from server...
But the request before it works fine, and the request after it works
fine. I''m currently running three Rails apps on this server. I ping them
each every ten minutes. I get a 500

Apache2 and fcgi external
If anyone here is using Apache and fcgi with an external fcgi server,
would you mind sharing your relevant setup details (httpd.conf, how you
start the external servers, anything else)? The more specific the better.

Camping Apache2 & FCGI - Internal Use

apache2 / fcgi / RoR - no connection
Hi,
I''ve generated a new Rails app and dummy controller "foo" with method
"hello". I am trying to run it under Apache/2.0.53 with fastcgi, and
getting the index.html page when I hit http://localhost/foo/hello, or
for any other request (http://localhost/kdjfslkfjs). Also, there is
nothing in the rails logs, and no errors in the apache logs.

FCGI and Apache2 on win performance problem
Hi all,
I am having problems with FCGI and Apache2 on windows.
The error I often receive is 500 error code response with logs listed
down. I successfully use Webrick server and CGI (very slow). I had
configured apache as is described in these document:

hey all,
I managed to configure a mongrel+apache2 but now I would like to do a
mongrel_cluster. For now I have a sites-available/myapp but when it
comes to mongrel_cluster I need to set up myapp.common,
myapp.proxy_cluster.conf and
myapp.proxy_frontend.conf and I couldn''t find a tutorial that explain
where should those file go. is it in conf.d or sites-available/ or
else?

Can''t get fcgi working with Apache2 on Mac OS X
I have an application that works fine in development mode under plain
old CGI and I''m trying to get it running under FCGI with multiple hours
of frustration. Lately, I am running dispatch.fcgi standalone from the
command line. It gives me a not very helpful one line error message;
Status: 500 Internal Server Error
The log file produces a not very helpful 2 line message;

RoR and Apache2 and app in local directory
Hi all. I''m at my wits end.. I''m trying to set up a Rails app (on a
Ubuntu system), within the public_html directory in my home directory
(as opposed to the /var/www/ directory). ie. in
/users/john/public_html/myapp

Bug#588888: boot="d" does not boot from CD
I have followed this bug report only to wind up in a similar predicament.
The Error: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'rfind' was fixed by installing xen-qemu-dm-4.0.
However the same configuration issue (trying to boot the guest from a CD) with the 'boot' option exists for me too.
Your configuration looks good unless I've missed something.

Sound configuration error on wine 1.3.1
Hi all.
So i compiled the recently released wine 1.3.1, and i'm in a predicament related to the sound configuration, that never happened in previous wine versions. Whenever i try to configure sound, using winecfg, wine crashes, also running applications just end with the same exact crash.
Should i fill a bug report?

How do I modify registry: Hk user?
All,
Looks like I'm in a predicament. One of our new sites will prompt users (in
IE) to display "mixed content". Which is basically asking if you want to
display some http in a https site.
I have found the solution, (besides having a user go into IE's tools /
privacy / custom settings / enable mix content) - with a registry entry.

FastCGI - how to relocate dispatch.fcgi outside of rails app
Howdy.
Due to a rather unique hosting setup, I need to relocate the
dispatch.fcgifile to a directory outside of
/path/to/application/public.
The setup looks like:
/path/to/content/RailsApp/ -- all application files
/path/to/fcgi-bin/RailsApp/ -- dispatch.fcgi
I''ve modified dispatch.fcgi to find environment.rb; however, all requests
for static files (index.html, javascripts, etc) fail
