32 Bit vs. 64 Bit Linux Server installation
Hi Centos Users What are the advantages of 64 Bit and respective 32 Bit installation of Centos? With PAE 32 Bit installation can address huge amount of RAM. As a desktop system, I prefer 32 Bit installation because of teething troubles in 64 Bit Linux world. When would you choose 64 Bit and when 32 Bit? We are running mostly application and web services. Is this true that with 32 Bit

Update for HowTo: Chroot vsftpd with non-system users
Hi, This update is for the HowTo at http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Chroot_Vsftpd_with_non-system_users Regarding two of the scripts provided: vsftpd_virtual_config.sh and vsftpd_virtual_config_withTLS.sh: The configuration additions it makes to PAM do not work on 64-bit systems. Vsftpd vs. iptables firewall script
Hi, I'm currently setting up a local FTP server, to receive disk images sent with G4L (Ghost4Linux). This server has been running Slackware Linux before, and the Vsftpd setup was relatively simple. With CentOS things seem to be slightly different, so I'm currently trying to work things out. For the moment, two things seem to be creating problems, the simple iptables firewall and

Incorporating code from sftp-glob.c into lftp
As you might know, LFTP is a popular FTP/SFTP command-line client for most systems. One feature that is lacking from this tool is the ability to do a globbed ls via sftp. I have a patch ready for LFTP that incorporates some of the knowledge [like oddball systems glob() handling] and some of the code from sftp-glob.c for this tool to add this capability. I do, however, have some questions about
