I have a Centos 5.4 machine that has, for the past two weeks, apparently been shut off over the weekend. It's just sitting there turned off on Monday morning and when someone hits the power switch it comes right back on and everything works again. I updated my work desktop to kernel-3.10.0-1062.4.1.el7.x86_64 yesterday as I was leaving. This morning booted into that new kernel I was unable to login using my common access card.? Came up... but when I went to use my PIV card for credentials to certain other machines, it didn't read the card. Researching a common one: Feb 26 07:30:29 onlo named[19336]: error (unexpected RCODE SERVFAIL) resolving 'foo.com/MX/IN': 1.2.3.4#53 I get the drift that my server has been directed to a 'lame server' and logs that fact. Supposedly I am to lookup the SOA record and contact the admin to fix this.

A new and improved instance of onlo.htt-consult.com is up and providing DNS service. It is my 1st Centos 6.3 production box. This is Phase I which included IPv6 working 'right'. Phase II will be to sign my zone and get fully with DNSSEC. I want to thank people here in answering my questions. Now on to other projects. I have a couple dozen to tackle.
