Any switchers from mod_perl
Good afternoon,
I have been developing in mod_perl for many years, and my livelihood is based on
being productive with it. I''ve spent the past week reading and testing RoR and
it does look good. But before I take the plunge for my next project, I was
hoping to hear from other mod_perl switchers.
One of the main reasons I like mod_perl is code flexibility. I like being able

Setting up Fleximage
Hello!
I''ve been trying today to setup fleximage to handle photo uploads to a
RoR application by following the tutorial that is provided
(http://github.com/Squeegy/fleximage/wikis/gettingstarted)
Originally, I just dropped in all of the sample code that they provided,
which I copied below this question.

Rails error on generated app
I created a very simple app with a database table for image file names
and tags to be associated with the image. When I generate the
scaffolded app it has an error in it. There is an uninitialized
constant of the same name as the model class but singular instead of
plural. I.E. Model class Photos < ActiveRecord::Base and in the
completely generated app I get an error when creating a row in

RoR for a Large Scale App?
I''ve seen discussion on this topic in the past, and was wondering what
people''s feelings were in regards to the more recent releases?
Mainly, could it be possible to build a web application on the scale
of, say, Amazon, or deal with similar bandwidth and load requirements
as an iTunes would? It may be unfair to expect that much, seeing as
these are some of the largest around,

breakpointer failing
Hey there,
I got a new workstation going on here an Intel iMac, and I''ve compiled
and installed everything with intel binaries. Everything works fine, I
even got that cool clever lighttpd script running
(http://www.bigbold.com/snippets/posts/show/303).
But the one thing that doesn''t work is breakpoints and the breakpointer script.
When I run script/breakpointer, I get the

I''ve been trying to get ActiveACL to work with my new project, and as

Rails 1.1?
I have a few very basic questions.
Is anyone using rails 1.1?
How/Where can I get Rails 1.1 (I don''t see it on RubyonRails.org?
What are the issues involved in moving from Rails 1.0 to Rails 1.1?
If I move to Rails 1.1, can I downgrade? Just curious.
Thank you very much for your assistance.

Integrating multiple applications
I''ve got a couple apps that I use (billing app, support ticket app,
some other custom apps) that I want to integrate into one site. They
will all use the same layout for the most part, and will link between
each other.
When I initially thought of doing this, I figured if I put the apps at
different roots - /billing /support etc - then the links wouldn''t work
at all, because

Relative stylesheet reference
Problem: The HREF generated by the stylesheet_link_tag is an absolute path.
Details:
The layout for my view has the following line
<%= stylesheet_link_tag ''scaffold'' %>
At runtime, this gets translated to
<link href="/stylesheets/scaffold.css" ... />
This does not get resolved correctly. The problem is the leading slash. It should be

''Code table'' best practices?
I''ve been going back and forth about this kind of thing for a while.
I reverse my opinion on it every project, and I''m wondering if anyone
has any advice/battle scars to share. As usual, please forgive my
long-windedness in advance.
Let''s say I have this:

Uploading photos
Hi all,
Learning RoR (and loving it!) to develop a website. A requirement of the website is enabling users to upload photos to be made viewable (dynamically) on the website. Is this something I can develop with RoR?
Thanks,
Jeff
