Re: LARTC Digest, Vol 20, Issue 4
Hi, I think you now have 2 Links to the internet. You want to route web traffic (transparent proxy triffic) via one link and the rest via the other link. If it is the case, It is possible to do. I have done it. here I have mentioned eth0 and eth1 eth0 is connected to one link (link1) eth1 is connected to other link (link2) , via this link, web traffic will be routed. echo 210 link1 >>

Making a SIP call
If someone could point me in the right direction I would much appreciate it. Here is my problem: My directions for my sip phone says to dial an ip address 12*34*65*78#. When I dial that into my phone my asterisk server is only picking up some of the numbers in the above example it would pick up 6578. Then of course not find it and ring busy on the phone. The same is true for dialing a regular

Any way to run tinc on MikroTik routers?
Hello, Please excuse my (probably newbie) question, but: Since RouterOS, MikroTik's proprietary OS, is largely based on GNU/Linux, anyone knows a way to run tinc on a MikroTik device? This would be in order to make an (imposed, no choice given...) MikroTik device (say the B1100AHX4 router) to participate in a tinc mesh, in interoperation with GNU/Linux machines. Please see:

Forcibly emptying a POP3 mailbox
Hello, I've recently saw a discussion on this list, about a standardised way of emptying POP3 mailboxes on the server - but no solution came up. Please provide a suggestion for the following situation: - I am running a stock POP3 dovecot server, on Fedora 12 (dovecot version 1.2.9) - passwd-file authentication via /etc/imap.passwd - users are virtual, sharing the same UID/GID; -

Route cache
Hi, I have a P4 @ 3Ghz router running Debian. It shapes traffic ( about 500-600 classes ), about 1000 iptables rules, and it does BGP too, so i get about 1300+ routes in the routing table. The problem is the load is too high on this system. I found a solution to my problem, turning off the route cache, but i dont know how to implement it, I was wondering if anyone found a way to disable the

tinc initialization (in both Red Hat and Debian families)
Hello all, Thank you for tinc, that is an **excellent** and useful package! Taking into account that both Red Hat and Debian (8.x) families now use systemd, there is, IMHO, one small. but important correction to be done: tinc's initialization. IMHO, we need: 1. A proper tinc.service file, included by default (prepackaged) in the stock .deb and .rpm packages in Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu,

Tinc + OSPF - is it feasible?
Hello, Please tell me if it's possible to use tinc together with OSPF (instead of static routes in LAN). By OSPF I mean Quagga's GNU/Linux daemon. Namely, I have a group of LANs (private 192.168.x.0/24 each). Each LAN has a GNU/Linux default gateway, 192.168.x.1, that also connects to the Internet via a public IP address (does NAT and firewall for the LAN "behind" it). tinc
