Is Ruby stable for production use?
Hi, I realise that Windows is a poor platform and that Webrick is a development, not production, server. However, we have started seeing this crop up when perfectly simple page to page links are invoked... Interesting "Bad Certificate" Problem
All, I''m having an interesting certificate problem with a host I provisioned today. The host was provisioned and puppet was installed as part of the post-os provisioning process. After I signed the certificate I see the following on the client side: [root@client ~]# puppetd --verbose --no-daemonize notice: Starting Puppet client version 0.25.4 err: Could not retrieve catalog from

Hi All, Could anyone tell me, how to correctly install MySQL4.1 on Centos 5 ? By default Centos 5 comes with mysql5? If I will compile mysql4 from sources to separate prefix, some features may be unavailable (unix sockets for example). I?m moving some critical application (online booking) based on java, tomcat5, mysql4.1 from old server fedora 4 to new server running Centos 5. So, I don?t

Sudden Strange Webrick Error: Errno::ECONNABORTED
Hello, I''ve been developing an application (on Windows), and everything was going pretty well, but I suddenly began getting this weird error back from Webrick after submitting something through ajax, and only through ajax. I''m submitting a form through ajax, and it is being process properly - with all the interaction with the database happening without problem. The response

Net::HTTPResponse
Hello :) I have a problem with the Net::HTTP library... The Net::HTTP library [1] uses a Net::HTTPResponse object for all it''s responses from web servers. This class has many subclasses, such as HTTPSuccess, HTTPRedirecttion, etc. When obtaining a response, the library suggests to check what it is by testing the class of the returned object - using case/when or kind_of? (which it does

[PATCH v2 3/3] v2v: -o rhv-upload: Add a test.
Previously this output method was almost completely untested. This commit adds a fake ovirtsdk4 module so we can test the -o rhv-upload method fairly completely without needing an actual oVirt instance around. --- v2v/Makefile.am | 4 + .../ovirtsdk4/__init__.py | 146 ++++++++++++++++++ .../ovirtsdk4/types.py | 125

I have some files stored in db. When I try to download these I only get 65535 bytes from the database even if the file is a lot bigger. Is it a Rails setting I''ve missed or a database setting? Anything else? Using Rails 1.0, WinXP and MySQL4.1 /Marcus

Hello I''m attempting to write a mongrel plug-in which would stream a response. I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem. I post using a Net::HTTP object and instead of getting Net::HTTPResponse object, the server returns an Array causing an error since an we typically attempt to read the body of the Net::HTTPResponse object. Does anyone know why this is occurring? Thanks --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you

streaming response
hello list! I like merb a lot, it frees me from dropping to mongrel every time i want to stream something. i have an action which will stream a list of JSON objects (separated by semicolons). unfortunately because of Mongrel''s write-only header hash, once a Content-Length header has been written, I can never again tell it to not send such a thing - and streaming doesn''t work if

Re: Rails Digest, Vol 17, Issue 663
CocoaMySQL is definitely the way to go. Great app. Unfortunately, it''s somewhat complicated to find the correct version to use. Make sure you get version CocoaMySQL v0.7b2 based on official SMySQL framework (http://cocoamysql.sourceforge.net/beta.php). the current stable version 0.5 does not work with MySQL4.1., the latest beta does (however, no support for new new password

Net::HTTP
I''m looking at the documentation: http://ruby-doc.org/stdlib-2.0/libdoc/net/http/rdoc/Net/HTTP.html And I notice two uses of Net::HTTP. Both are using GET requests. But what''s the difference? When to use which? Net::HTTP.start(uri.host, uri.port) do |http| request = Net::HTTP::Get.new uri response = http.request request # Net::HTTPResponse object end uri =
